Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.

y enséñame tu ropero
con cosas maravillosas
y tan hermosas que guardas tu.
Toma el llavero, abuelita,
y enséñame tu ropero.
Prometo estarme quieto
¡cy, qué bonita espada
de mi abuelito el coronel!
Deja que me la ponga
y entonces dime si así era él.
Dame la muñequita
de grandes ojos color de mar.
Deja que le pregunte
a qué jugaba con mi mamá.
Toma el llavero, abuelita,
y enséñame tu ropero
con cosas maravillosas
y tan hermosas que guardas tu.
Toma el llavero, abuelita,
y enséñame tu ropero.
Prometo estarme quieto
y no tocar lo que saques tu.
Enséñame tu vestido
que hace ruidito al caminar,
y cuéntame cuando ibas
en carretela con tu papá.
Dame aquel libro viejo
de mil estampas, lo quiero abrir.
c los niños en estos tiempos
los mismos cuentos les gusta oír.
The lyrics of Cri-Cri's song "El Ropero" depict a child's curiosity and fascination with their grandmother's wardrobe. The child asks their grandmother to show them the closet, which is filled with marvelous and beautiful things. The child promises to be still and not touch anything that their grandmother takes out.
The song highlights the special bond between a grandchild and grandparent, with the child expressing a desire to learn more about their grandmother's past and her cherished belongings. The child marvels at a sword that once belonged to their grandfather, the coronel, and imagines what he must have been like. They also request to see a doll with big ocean-colored eyes, wanting to know what games their mother used to play with it. The child is curious about their grandmother's dress, which makes a sound when she walks, and asks her to reminisce about the times she rode in a carriage with her father. They also express an interest in an old book with a thousand illustrations, wanting to see if children in their time still enjoy the same stories.
Overall, "El Ropero" captures the innocent and inquisitive nature of a child, as well as the nostalgic connection between generations and the magic of discovering the past through treasured objects.

Quiero llorar porque me trae buenos recuerdos, donde el mundo no era tan caótico como ahora, donde no sabiamos que eramos felices. Ahora como adulta sufro de depresion y ansiedad, pero estas canciones me relajan y me animan a seguir. ❤🇲🇽
