Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.
Los Ratones Bomberos
Cri-Cri Lyrics

con un raudo vendaval,
todos son ratones
con sus cascos de metal.
Desde el rojo carro
que resuena al pasar
sirenas y campanas
Techos y paredes
el incendio hace crujir,
por los ventanales
llamaradas veo salir.
Vienen los bomberos
con su jefe Chamuscón,
un ratón robusto
muy valiente y bigotón.
Tienen sus mangueras
y con mucha previsión
por si falta agua
también llevan un sifón.
Nada los detiene
pues dejaron de roer
un sabroso queso
por cumplir con su deber.
Cierta ratoncita
desde el techo va a saltar.
¡No te asustes linda
que te vienen a salvar!
Y si llega el gato
a estropearles la función,
los bravos ratones
le darán un remojón.
The lyrics in Cri-Cri's song "Los Ratones Bomberos" describes a heroic group of firefighters who come to the rescue during a fire emergency. They arrive with great speed and intensity, reminiscent of a violent gust of wind, all sporting metal helmets. The sirens and bells from their red fire engine reverberate through the city, causing a commotion that signals their arrival.
As the fire rages on, the Ratones Bomberos (Firefighter Mice) use their hoses to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading any further. Even if there's a shortage of water, they come well-prepared, equipped with an additional siphon. Nothing stops them from doing their duty.
A female mouse, who was trapped on the roof, takes a leap of faith, knowing that the brave firefighters are coming to her rescue. And if they encounter any obstacles or disturbances, such as a cat trying to disrupt their work, the "brave mice" will rise to the occasion and give the cat a good soaking.
Overall, "Los Ratones Bomberos" is a delightful song that tells a tale of heroism and bravery against all odds.
