Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.

The first stanza of Cri-Cri's song Tarde De Lluvia describes the aftermath of rain on the countryside, with the vegetation appearing greener and more fragrant. However, the flowers also require protection from the rain, as those who do not cover up will get wet. In the second stanza, the Rabbit and Squirrel emerge from their shelter, fully equipped with their rain gear, including an umbrella and a raincoat. The third stanza depicts two ducklings on their way to school, using their umbrella as they paint puddles.
The fourth and final stanza paints a different picture, as the rain continues, and the sorrowful narrator is stuck inside a dark and cold house. The water has risen, with the height reaching up to their stomach. The singer's cat is snoring by the antique and warm brazier, oblivious to the rain outside. The ducks, on the other hand, have a different approach to the rain - they plunge into the water like experts. However, their teacher does not want any "wet ducks" in her class.
The song provides a beautiful insight into the diverse behavior and reactions of animals to rain, highlighting how they have different means to adapt and survive in such conditions, from protecting themselves with rain gear to actively embracing the rain.

Cada vez me sorprendo más conociendo muchas canciones que jamás escuché, del genio de Crí Crí que hizo muy felices a los niños de su época y aún lo sigue haciendo aunque esos niños hayamos crecido, pero siempre lo llevamos dentro, a él, su música y a ese niño.
