Just one drink
Just one drink
Just one more drink
Just one drink
Just one drink
Just one drink
One more drink
Just one more drink
One more drink
One more drink
La la lalalala la la lalalala la la lalalala la
La la lalalala la la lalalala la la lalalala la
I just went for a cheeky pint
But ones all I need to work up an appetite
Before you know it's half nine
And we're dancing on the tables
Who got the shots in singing la la lalalala
Losing the plot like la la lalalala
Fun while it lasts but now I'm in mourning
Money's all gone and the hangovers calling
Just one drink (and all I wanted was a quiet pint)
One more drink (yeah I'm on the search for a quiet life)
One more drink (check yo that's how it started
But now I'm at party in a stranger's apartment)
Just one more drink (and all I wanted was a quiet pint)
One more drink (I'm in the search for a quiet life)
One more drink (check yo I need to slow down)
Just one more...
Just one more...
Just one more drink
One more drink
La la lalalala la la lalalala la la lalalala la
La la lalalala la la lalalala la la lalalala la
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
One more drink
The song "One More Drink" by Cut Capers is about the temptation and consequences of drinking. The repetition of the phrase "just one drink" emphasizes the idea that sometimes one drink can lead to more than intended. The lyrics describe how a casual drink with friends quickly turns into a night of dancing on tables and taking shots. The chorus highlights the desire for one more drink but recognizes the need to slow down and the consequences of overindulging.
The opening lyrics "I just went for a cheeky pint, but one's all I need to work up an appetite" portray the innocent intention of having just one drink but quickly spiraling into a night of partying as the verses continue. The lines "Fun while it lasts but now I'm in mourning, money's all gone and the hangovers calling" demonstrate the aftermath and repercussions of overindulging in alcohol. The bridge shows the internal conflict of wanting to live a quiet life but finding oneself at a party in a stranger's apartment, further emphasizing the temptations of alcohol.
Overall, the song portrays a cautionary tale and raises awareness of the dangers of overindulging in alcohol.
