The lyrics to Dariush's "Khorshid Khanoom" captures the essence of beauty and light in the form of the sun. The song starts with a call to the "Sun Lady" to rise and shine, while the world is held captive by sleep. The "Sun Lady" is depicted as a source of warmth and light, capable of melting the ice on the Earth, making the flowers in the garden bloom, and reviving the tired souls of the elderly, all of whom are silent in the dark. The canaries, who are the symbol of love, are also awaiting her arrival with their wings closed, lost in anticipation of the light. The song also highlights the limitations that humans face compared to the natural elements, as the candles, flowers, and butterflies fail to sing in her presence.
The song continues to evoke the image of the sun as a source of life and abundance, and encourages the listener to embrace the light and the celebration. The imagery of the pearls of light splashing in the water, and the invitation to celebrate with wheat, love, and the sun, resonates with the idea of abundance and fertility. The song then takes a romantic turn, inviting the Sun Lady to ride on the horse of light and explore the world, and to bring a fresh perspective to revive our hearts, just as the blue handkerchief cleanses our faces. The last verse speaks of the beauty of the sun and acknowledging the fact that the Earth is blessed by its presence.
Overall, the song "Khorshid Khanoom" is a beautiful tribute to the sun and its life-giving properties, with a touch of romanticism and appreciation for the beauty of life.
