Dark Dark Dark Lyrics

You're back and forth like water underneath the moon
And where did you, you pick up those songs
You're walking and you've brought a bit too much along
Inspect the souls on those old wood
The nights have been your likely to change too soon
Which town do you like the best?
I'd like to show you this electric sea
And I'll sing an infinite electrified scream
A shrill shiver shrieks in my sweater of red
The most brilliant cerulean around your head
When I walk up you say hello
The most simple-mending, heart-bending
Glimmer-gleam, pulse-fast-sending yellow
Oh orange, it must have glowed orange
And it burns my eyes
The lyrics to Dark Dark Dark's song Colours can be interpreted in a number of ways, but at its core, it is a song about the transformative power of nature and how it affects us emotionally. The opening lines, "salted wind that you walk into, You're back and forth like water underneath the moon" evoke a sense of being pulled in different directions, like the tides of the ocean. The "salted wind" suggests a coastal setting, and the moon's influence on the tide reinforces this idea. The second line suggests indecisiveness, perhaps in the way the tides can seem erratic and unpredictable.
The next line, "And where did you, you pick up those songs," introduces the idea of music as a means of transport, a way of connecting with others across distances. The singer seems to be walking with a burden, as evidenced by the line "You're walking and you've brought a bit too much along," but the line also hints at the idea of emotional baggage, things that we carry with us that weigh us down.
The rest of the lyrics reinforce the themes of nature and emotion, with references to different colors and the feelings they evoke. The lines "A shrill shiver shrieks in my sweater of red, The most brilliant cerulean around your head" suggest a heightened state of awareness, as though the singer is experiencing the world in a more vivid and intense way. The closing line, "And it burns my eyes," suggests that this heightened awareness can also be overwhelming.
Overall, Colours is a song about the power of nature to evoke strong emotions, and the ways in which we carry those emotions with us.

Great song by a great band. Very intense on stage. I saw them recently opening for Low and was so mesmerized that I bought their album before they had finished the gig, even though I had never heard of therm before. Outstanding video.
