In August 2003 Dark Moor recorded four new exclusive acoustic tracks along with a string quartet, to be included in Between Light and Darkness, which was released in April 2003. Due to differing points of view regarding the musical direction for the next Dark Moor album, vocalist Elisa Martin, guitarist Albert Maroto and drummer Jorge Sáez decided to leave Dark Moor to start a new band.
The two remaining members of the band decided to start a search for new members. After the auditions, they accepted vocalist Alfred Romero, guitarist Jose Garrido, and drummer Andy C.

On 18 June 2013 the band released their ninth album Ars Musica, with the Japanese limited version including a bonus CD with five bonus tracks. They toured Mexico and Asia the same year, as well as few dates in Europe in 2014 to support the new album.
Dark Moor started recording their 10th studio album, Project X, on 27 July 2015 and released it in Europe on 6 November 2015 on Scarlet Records.
On 21 July 2018, Enrik Garcia, guitarist and founder of the band, announced via Facebook that their next album would be called Origins and that, after the parenthesis they did with ufology themes on Project X, they would return to their habitual themes; Origins will be about the celtic world, also adding celtic instruments on their new songs. This album has been released on 12 December 2018.
A New World
Dark Moor Lyrics

Fourteen ninety-two bring a new change to see
Across the ocean the would sail
(following out the dark blaze)
They keep the route with an endless faith
[bridge:]
Far beyond the earth's edge
As a privilege
Sun still soreads out it dreams
[Chorus:]
With the winds of the sea
Always dlowing from the east
Three boats dare to face
Just a will, a delief
Which could cross the deep abyss
To discover a new world
Saving humanity
suddenly a joyful cry
Was heard in the avanced night
The long awaited sight
Was seen below the sky
new treasures shine before my eyes
(they're dright like a durning fire)
I will enjoy the ethernal sea of life
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
aventus nautarum in novan terram
Argentum aurumque America
but they didn't know
That this virgin ground
Was ab unknown land that overgrows
New eden's found
The lost paradise
Mankinds dawn is beginning to rise
this land is wild
Our boots were defiled
Our dreams will be reality
The native's pain
Always in vain
Our glory was their agony
But when columbus told the queen
All the thing he'd seeb
He had to submit and be agreed
With kingdom's greed
[Chorus]
The song "A New World" by Dark Moor describes the journey of Christopher Columbus and his voyage to the unknown world, which eventually led to the discovery of the American continent. The song begins by discussing how the old world was filled with starvation and disease, and then Columbus came with a new change in 1492 that would change the course of the world. The lyrics describe how Columbus sailed across the ocean with endless faith, following the dark blaze, and reached a new world, thereby saving humanity. The bridge talks about how Columbus and his crew went beyond the Earth's edge and reached their dreams, and the sun still spreads out its dreams.
The chorus talks about how the winds of the sea always blow from the east, and Columbus and his three boats dared to face the unknown abyss with just their will and belief. They discovered a new world and saved humanity. Suddenly, a joyful cry was heard in the advanced night, and new treasures shone before their eyes. Columbus enjoys the eternal sea of life, and the indigenous people watch their New Eden found. The song ends critic of the colonialism inflicted on the indigenous population, how their pain was always in vain as their glory was their agony. When Columbus told the queen all he had seen, he had to submit to the kingdom's greed.
