Dark Moor began the recording sessions for their second album, The Hall of the Olden Dreams, in August 2000 at New Sin Studios with producer Luigi Stefanini. During these recording sessions, the band recorded their cover of "Halloween", which was included on the CD The Keepers of Jericho part I - A Tribute to Helloween (Arise Records).
Their E.P. The Fall of Melnibone was released in June 2001. This E.P was a limited edition; 1500 copies were released and only for the Spanish market.
Dark Moor began the recording of their third album, The Gates of Oblivion, in Autumn 2001 at New Sin Studios. Dark Moor signed with the major label JVC for the Asian release. The band played 18 gigs at festivals such as Rock Machina, Viña Rock and Nit De Reis. After the first part of the tour, keyboardist Roberto Peña left the band and they were forced to finish the tour with a guest musician.
In August 2003 Dark Moor recorded four new exclusive acoustic tracks along with a string quartet, to be included in Between Light and Darkness, which was released in April 2003. Due to differing points of view regarding the musical direction for the next Dark Moor album, vocalist Elisa Martin, guitarist Albert Maroto and drummer Jorge Sáez decided to leave Dark Moor to start a new band.
The two remaining members of the band decided to start a search for new members. After the auditions, they accepted vocalist Alfred Romero, guitarist Jose Garrido, and drummer Andy C.
In August 2003, the band started recording their fourth album, Dark Moor, at New Sin Studios in Italy. Following a month of recording sessions, the album was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios.
On 23 November 2006, the band announced the departure of their drummer on their official website, due to "incompatibility with his other musical projects." He would go on to play drums for Saratoga. His replacement, Roberto Cappa, was previously in the Spanish metal band Anima Sola.
In January 2009, their seventh album Autumnal was released.
The band made an announcement on their website, dated 4 June 2010, that their eighth album was in the works. It featured Berenice Musa as a guest vocalist. The album is titled Ancestral Romance and it was released in November 2010.
On 18 June 2013 the band released their ninth album Ars Musica, with the Japanese limited version including a bonus CD with five bonus tracks. They toured Mexico and Asia the same year, as well as few dates in Europe in 2014 to support the new album.
Dark Moor started recording their 10th studio album, Project X, on 27 July 2015 and released it in Europe on 6 November 2015 on Scarlet Records.
On 21 July 2018, Enrik Garcia, guitarist and founder of the band, announced via Facebook that their next album would be called Origins and that, after the parenthesis they did with ufology themes on Project X, they would return to their habitual themes; Origins will be about the celtic world, also adding celtic instruments on their new songs. This album has been released on 12 December 2018.
The Night of the Age
Dark Moor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And the beams play with the trees
Memories so come to my heart
Because the guardian of the dreams departs
[Bridge:]
Who stole my illusions?
Who stole my hopes?
Unseen I grope?
Where will I find the force
'To untie the past's rope' ---((not coherrant enough))
In my soul?
[Chorus:]
Go on
Within the black night of the age
Getting my sadness turn to rage
Even oblivion
So feeling will be free again
The dreams will break the chains
Flying to the eternity
Sometimes in dreams I see her eyes
Watching me like wells of lies
Those in the cold cloak of the night
Were my sole flame , of whom I was acolyze
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
Where are the guardians of their dreams, Return to me
Tell me the answers that my mind will live again
[Chorus]
The lyrics of Dark Moor's song The Night of the Age describe the feeling of sadness and loneliness that overcomes the singer as the day ends, and memories of the past flood his mind. The first stanza sets the scene of the golden dusk, which provides an atmosphere for reflection. The second stanza expresses the singer's despair: he wonders who has robbed him of his hope and dreams and left him groping in the darkness. The bridge and chorus resolve to use the power of the night as a way to break free from the chains of the past and move forward into the future.
The lyrics have a strong use of imagery, especially in the line "Watching me like wells of lies." The darkness of the night and the visual contrast of the golden dusk give the listener a sense of time passing, and the yearning to turn back the clock. The lyrics are also introspective, as the singer turns to his own soul to find the strength to overcome his sadness.
Overall, The Night of the Age is a powerful song that explores themes of loss, acceptance, and resilience in the face of darkness.

When the golden dusk covers me
As the sun sets and covers me in its golden light
And the beams play with the trees
And the sun's rays dance with the leaves of the trees
Memories so come to my heart
Memories flood my heart
Because the guardian of the dreams departs
As the keeper of dreams leaves, memories surface
Who stole my illusions?
Who took away my hopes and dreams?
Who stole my hopes?
Who took away the things I wished for?
Why did the light off
Why did the light go out?
Unseen I grope?
Feeling my way forward in the darkness?
Where will I find the force
Where will I find the strength?
'To untie the past's rope'
To let go of the past and move on
In my soul?
Is it within me?
Go on
Keep moving forward
Within the black night of the age
In the darkness of the current time
Getting my sadness turn to rage
My sadness turns into anger
Even oblivion
Even if I forget everything
So feeling will be free again
So I can feel alive once more
The dreams will break the chains
My dreams will set me free from my constraints
Flying to the eternity
Rising up to a life without end
Sometimes in dreams I see her eyes
At times, her eyes haunt me in my dreams
Watching me like wells of lies
Staring at me like bottomless pits of deception
Those in the cold cloak of the night
Those who stay hidden in the dark
Were my sole flame, of whom I was acolyze
Were the only fire I had, of whom I was devoted to
Where are the guardians of their dreams, Return to me
Where are those who watch over their own dreams, come back to me
Tell me the answers that my mind will live again
Give me the answers so my mind can be alive once more

Una banda que en su día podía mirar cara a cara a Stratovarius o Rhapsody no entiendo como llegó a convertirse en lo que es hoy. Esto es oro puro.
