Couple other moons, all we do is fuck and fight, ooh
No apologies but we got the best excuses
Making policies, even when we do it's useless, useless
'Cause when we say it's over
We do it again on nights we're alone
I know that you're home, so pick up the phone
'Cause I wanna be where you are
So let's just blame it on love
When the rules fall apart
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love
Broken bottles that we finished from the night before, hey yeah, yeah
First we're throwing knives, then we're on the kitchen floor, uuh
No apologies but we have the best excuses, no
We can lie about it, baby, but we know the truth is, the truth is
'Cause when we say it's over
We do it again on nights we're alone
Say that we won't be more than just friends
I know that you're home, so pick up the phone
'Cause I wanna be where you are
So let's just blame it on love
When the rules fall apart
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love
Baby, you can hold it against me
As long as you keep holding me against you
'Cause we get so high on the chemistry
Every time you leave
We do it again on nights we're alone
Say that we won't be more than just friends
I know that you're home, so pick up the phone
'Cause I wanna be where you are
So let's just blame it on love
When the rules fall apart
Let's just blame it on love
It again on nights we're alone
Say that we won't be more than just friends
I know that you're home, so pick up the phone
'Cause I wanna be where you are
So let's just blame it on love
When the rules fall apart
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love, blame it on love (blame it on love)
Let's just blame it on love
The lyrics to David Guetta's song Blame It On Love is about a tumultuous relationship between two lovers who find themselves in a toxic cycle of arguing and making up. The first verse depicts one partner blocking the other's phone number, only to invite them to spend the night. The two then engage in sex and argue, using any excuse to justify their behavior, even if the policy they create becomes useless. The lovers then repeat this cycle, claiming their actions are due to love.
The chorus suggests that they should blame their behavior on love, as it is the only justification for their actions. They admit that they cannot just be friends since their chemistry is too strong. The second verse describes their violent behavior towards each other, broken bottles from the night before, throwing knives and ending up on the kitchen floor. They continue to make excuses for their actions, even though they both know the truth.
In conclusion, Blame It On Love is a song about a tumultuous relationship that cannot be controlled because of the strong attraction between two people. Despite the toxicity and damaging behavior, they try to justify it as being in love.
