David Guetta Lyrics

Driftin' where the wind blows
Yeah, gravity held me tight
But with you, I can let go
I know, I know when I'm hollow, hollow
You take it all away and fill the empty spaces
Don't know, don't know 'bout tomorrow, 'morrow
I feel a little bit lighter
When the world's heavy as stone
In the cold, you shine a bit brighter
When I'm with you
Wherever we go, the cold ain't so cold
As long as you're close, I thought you should know
I feel a little bit lighter
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
The tide can pull us away
Don't matter where we are
'Cause when you're inches away
Heaven's never that far
I know, I know when I'm hollow, hollow
You take it all away and fill the empty spaces
Don't know, don't know 'bout tomorrow, 'morrow
But I know that today
I feel a little bit lighter
When the world's heavy as stone
In the cold, you shine a bit brighter
When I'm with you
Wherever we go, the cold ain't so cold
As long as you're close, I thought you should know
I feel a little bit lighter
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
The lyrics of David Guetta's song "Lighters" speak to the transformative power of love and connection in one's life. The metaphor of being "paper planes in the sky" drifting with the wind reflects the idea of being carried through life's uncertainties, with gravity symbolizing the weight and constraints that can hold someone back. However, when the singer is with their loved one, they feel free to let go and experience a sense of lightness and liberation.
The lyrics highlight the impact that this person has on the singer's emotional well-being. When feeling hollow and empty, the presence of their partner fills those empty spaces, providing comfort and solace. The uncertainty of tomorrow is acknowledged, but the focus is on the present moment and the reassurance and positivity that the relationship brings.
The chorus emphasizes the feeling of lightness that the singer experiences when they are with their partner, contrasting it with the heaviness of the world. The imagery of shining brighter in the cold and warmth that comes from being close to their loved one conveys a sense of comfort and security. Despite external challenges, the presence of their partner makes everything feel lighter and more bearable.
The final verse continues to express the strength of the bond between the singer and their partner, illustrating how their connection transcends physical distances and obstacles. The idea that heaven feels near when their loved one is close emphasizes the profound impact of their relationship on the singer's life. Overall, the lyrics of "Lighters" capture the transformative power of love in providing warmth, comfort, and a sense of lightness in the midst of life's challenges.
