Tell the Truth
Derek and the Dominos Lyrics

[Chorus:]
Tell the truth.
Tell me who's been fooling you?
Tell the truth.
Who's been fooling who?

There you sit there, looking so cool
While the whole show is passing you by.
You better come to terms with your fellow men soon, cause
The whole world is shaking now. Can't you feel it?
A new dawn is breaking now. Can't you see it?

[Chorus]

It doesn't matter just who you are,
Or where you're going or been.
Open your eyes and look into your heart.

The whole world is shaking now. Can't you feel it?
A new dawn is breaking now. Can't you see it?
I said see it, yeah, can't you see it?
Can't you see it, yeah, can't you see it?
I can see it, yeah.

[Chorus]

Hear what I say, 'cause every word is true.
You know I wouldn't tell you no lies.
Your time's coming, gonna be soon, boy.

[Repeat: x2]
It doesn't matter just who you are,
Or where you're going or been.
Open your eyes and look into your heart.

When I play this tune for others to listen, they think it is annoying or tough in some way. This is how blues-rock should sound. Loud and unpolished. In my opinion one of the best bluesrock-tunes ever made.

Vincent Whitley

Amen, my brother...the whole album kicks ass

Lamont Scott

my favorite song on the album

Mike P. Lipinsky

Agreed 100 percent klas this is music and some of the best. Without dropping names the music kids and alot of adults listen to today is straight garbage.

Dannie Offield

They're stupid.. This is seriously, soulful! Atlantic, with Aretha and co, understood. Other singer, with Clapton, are nice... Icing on the cake is Duane on slide.... All-time great moment in rock history.

Vincent Whitley

The best blues rock ever put down on acetate

It’s a shame so few young people don’t realize how incredible this music is. Derek and the Dominoes were the best rock band in existence in their brief time. Brilliant.

Adam Stevens

The band heats up as the song goes along. Love Jim Gordon's drum rolls as it hits the chorus;so powerful.

This song just makes me smile knowing how much fun Duane & Eric had playing together. You can just feel how these two great guitarist enjoyed playing off each other. Thank you for posting this ...
