An 8-piece Czech band from Úvaly near Prague, formed in 1996. DB is both hated and loved by many because of its simple but sometimes quite catchy lyrics and music where we can hear many instruments, but is not too complex in the first place.
It is hard to define what genre Divokej Bill is. Sometimes its music is defined as folk rock, celtic rock, country and so on; members think it might be "redneck rock" as they are from a small town and are influenced by it.
DB has attended a lot of festivals in last few years like its home Ouvalskej bigbít, Rock for People or Masters of Rock. DB also does a lot of its own gigs nationwide.
Divokej Bill is closely related to Medvěd 009 because they are both from Úvaly, and Vašek Bláha is a singer and guitarist in both bands.

Divokej Bill Lyrics

The song Bohužel by Divokej Bill is a haunting and reflective piece focusing on the theme of the inevitability of death. The opening lines set the tone for the song, referring to those who have damned themselves and sold their souls to the devil. These people are capable of doing anything, even as their bodies deteriorate and weaken. Unfortunately, they cannot save themselves from their fate. The singer, seemingly in conversation with someone, mentions that he possesses a scythe because he is a butcher himself. He wanted to have some semblance of control over his life and a clear conscience. He has only one certainty in life, that he won't face his end alone.
The next verse continues with the same theme but applies it to another scenario. The singer talks about a ferryman who takes people across a river. Sometimes, people get tired and fall asleep, but they always wake up on the other side. The singer notes that sometimes people are slow to wake up and get off the ferry. When that happens, they can't escape their fate, and this realization is inescapable. The singer seems to be conversing with someone, discussing these ideas of inevitability, but there is acceptance in his tone. He knows that sometimes things happen, and people can't control their outcomes.
