Though seasons would eventually separate these blood brothers by miles, a strong bond remained. These two were rooted in the same soil, and the sound of that union resounded across state lines and through telephone wires. It was in 2005 that ELANI was born, a Greek word or name that means 'light'. Many contributed to the sound and direction that was 'ELANI' over the next 5 years, and the music was positively shaped and formed by these experiences and collaborations between these friends and fellow creatives.
There has never been one genre to pin to what the Brothers Miller have accomplished over these last six years, but it could be said that the songs spin a tale, weaving a story full of depth and discovery, soul, Spirit, and the scent of the seasons. Like many who have come before, The brothers Miller were born with the breathe of the centuries, and the rhythm of life itself. Every sound comes from the overflow of that reality.

Kwani wapi nilikosea
Kwani wapi nilikosea
Elani baby
Kufumba kufumbua, hasira ni hasara

The lyrics of ELANI's song Zuzu seem to be describing the singer's search for answers after being left alone and abandoned by a lover. The first lines, "Number one on your Radio, Kwani wapi nilikosea," suggest that the singer is asking themselves where they went wrong in the relationship. This feeling of confusion is repeated in the chorus, "Kwani wapi nilikosea aah aah, Kwani wapi nilipotea, nikaachwa mataa," where the singer is pondering what they did wrong to be left alone in the dark.
The second verse suggests that the singer is experiencing a range of emotions as a result of the breakup, including anger and financial difficulties. "Kufumba kufumbua, hasira ni hasara, Pesa ndiyo kitu sina, jukumu ni lazima, Tabibu wangu amenitoroka, Tabibu wangu ameniacha, Amen iacha mi (Aiyoooo), Hoihoii iii(Iyoo, Iyo, yo, yo)" expresses these feelings of frustration and abandonment, as the singer feels like even their doctor has abandoned them.
The song seems to be exploring the confusion and pain that comes with heartbreak, with the singer trying to understand why they were left by their lover. The repeated line, "Anaye ni zuzu," seems to suggest that the person who left them is the one tormenting them with their absence.
