Weeping Night
Elend Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Fire is my world of burning desires.
The thousand sunsets are flaming
through the blood of the rainbows
And the darkness of my eyes.
Kiss my lips forlorn and dwell in me
As I lie departed in the cathedral of your tears.
And let all my people know that Hope died this night
Fort all your sins and fears and grieves and pains.
Salva me.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Elend's song Weeping Night are poetic and profound, evoking a sense of despair and longing. The opening line, "Fire is my world of burning desires," sets the stage for the rest of the song, suggesting a passionate and intense emotion that consumes the singer. The use of imagery is particularly striking, with the "thousand sunsets" described as "flaming through the blood of the rainbows." This image reinforces the idea that the singer is consumed by something intense and unattainable, like the beauty of a sunset that can never be retained.

The second stanza is even more haunting, with the singer calling out for someone to "Kiss my lips forlorn and dwell in me." The reference to the "cathedral of your tears" suggests a deep sadness, and the final lines of the stanza make it clear that the singer sees their suffering as somehow redemptive: "let all my people know that Hope died this night / For all your sins and fears and grieves and pains." The use of the phrase "Salva me" at the end of the stanza reinforces this religious imagery, suggesting a plea for salvation or forgiveness.

Overall, the lyrics to Weeping Night are emblematic of Elend's unique style of dark, brooding music. The use of religious imagery, vivid language, and intense emotion create a powerful listening experience that is sure to resonate with fans of this genre.

J'ai notamment été impressionné par le 8ème morceau "Dancing under the closed eyes of paradise".
