The band eventually broke up in 1996 and Bunbury started his solo career in 1997 with a techno album, Radical Sonora with his new band: Copi (piano), del Moran (bass), Ramón Gacias (drums) and former Héroes del Silencio guitarrist Alan Boguslavsky.
Recognized by his wish to always reinvent himself, Bunbury released in 1999 the album Pequeño, which sounded much different than anything he did before. His band also suffered changes, Boguslavsky was replaced by Rafa Domínguez, and the new faces, Ana Belén Estaje (violin), Luis Miguel Romero (percussion), Javier Iñigo, Javier García Vega & Antonio Ríos in the metal instruments.
This band was known as the "Huracán Ambulante" ("Rambling Hurricane") and recorded with Bunbury the rest of his solo discography, (except Antonio Ríos).
In 2005, after 8 years together, Bunbury dissolved the band and declared that will record a new album in 2006 only with his voice and a piano. Nevertheless, in early 2006 he recorded an album with spanish artist Nacho Vegas by the name of El tiempo de las cerezas.
His old band, Héroes del Silencio, reunited in 2007 for a short tour which visited Latin America, United States and Spain.
Un hombre en el espacio

Busca la perspectiva
De la distancia
Un hombre en el espacio
Compra billete de ida
No volvera a casa
Hay alguien ahi
Alguien me puede decir
En todo este tiempo
Un hombre en el espacio
Pone su nombre a galaxias
Y con ellas habla
Un hombre en el espacio
Llego puntual a una cita
Que se retrasa
Hay alguien ahi
Alguien me puede decir
Si alguien me ha hechado en falta
En todo este tiempo
Demasiado complicado es este mundo
Aturdido y abrumado me voy
Soy un hombre en el espacioexterior
Y como un caballero me despido
Un hombre en el espacio
Un hombre en el espacio
Un hombre en el espacio
Un hombre en el espacio
"Un hombre en el espacio" is a poignant song that explores themes of loneliness, isolation and detachment from the mundane world. The lyrics speak of a man who has left the earth and ventured into space to escape the complexity and chaos of modern society. He seeks a new perspective, a distance from his mundane existence, and experiences through the unknown galaxy.
The lyrics describe how the man in space is buying a one-way ticket and does not plan to return home. He has put his name on galaxies and speaks to them, perhaps in an attempt to assign meaning and purpose to his existence. The repetition of "hay alguien ahi" (is somebody there) speaks to his isolation and longing for someone to connect with him while he is in space.
The chorus "Demasiado complicado es este mundo" (too complicated is this world) underscores the man's sense of disillusionment and frustration with the complexities of life on earth. The song closes with the man saying goodbye like a gentleman, implying that he has given up on the world and found solace in space.
