In 2005, Estopa signed a global music publishing deal with BMG Music Publishing.
The name of the group, "Estopa" (tow, in english) refers to when both brothers worked together at a SEAT automobile factory and, in their own words, a boss kept on screaming at them, "¡Dale estopa!" which means something like "Work hard!".

Esta canción es tritisima y preciosa... En esta epoca se murió mi madre y me recuerda a ella. Y suelo escucharla mucho. Dias antes de que falleciera me compre este disco. Hay canciones que marcan una época... Estopa los mejores.

No sé si me leerás, pero parece que lo he escrito yo. Desde niño siempre me acompañó Estopa y a mi hermano pequeño también. Lo llevábamos en la sangre. En Marzo de 2022, con apenas 25 años, se acostó y no despertó más. Ahora cuando escucho estopa y sobre todo estas canciones, no paro de recordarlo. Larga vida a Estopa, larga vida a los hermanos.
