With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Starfish Ride
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fever dreams of neurotic kind
But I cannot feel you
Head down and straight in line
Fever dreams of a foreign tribe
But I cannot feel you
6 1 7 and 49
But I cannot feel you
Would you join my starfish ride
For a 6 1 7 and 49
Still I cannot feel you
Cannot see behind your smile
No tears, no more cries
No predicted paradise
No dreams - no more scars
No love to forever last
Hey little Lucifer inside
Way down for handshake time
Scorn for the devil and love is mine
But I cannot feel you
Would you join my water gun ride
For a 6 1 7 and 49
But I cannot feel you...
No tears, no more cries
No predicted paradise
No dreams - no more scars
No pain to forever last
Hey Mr. Lucifer - you're mine
The lyrics of Flowing Tears's song "Starfish Ride" can be interpreted in different ways, but it seems to be about a relationship that ended badly. The first stanza describes the feeling of detachment and disconnection from a past lover. Their past together is described as a "fever dream" and the singer's emotions are compared to a "neurotic kind." They are no longer able to "feel" the other person, even though memories of their time together linger.
In the second stanza, the singer seems to be inviting the other person to join them on a "starfish ride" and a "water gun ride," using numbers as a means of communication. However, despite the invitations and attempts at connection, the singer still cannot feel or see the other person's true intentions. There is a sense of frustration and hopelessness in the repeated line "but I cannot feel you."
The last stanza seems to be a resolution of sorts, with the singer declaring that they have moved on from the pain and no longer hold onto the "tears" and "scars" of the past. The final line, "Hey Mr. Lucifer - you're mine," suggests a reclaiming of power and a sense of triumph over the pain of the past.
