Beneath the Ashes
Fractured Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
once all is anarchy, the end we all surmise
and like the phoenix lives, we know we all must perish,
into the emptiness to know what we must cherish.
Chorus:
It’s always breaking, the tides are slipping down,
into the ocean, six feet underground.
into the abyss helplessly we all will drown.
This artificial dynasty that I have built from lies,
insecurity and many hard goodbyes,
will feed my appetite and quench my self denial,
to pull these sick and twisted thoughts from inner-child.
Chorus
The darkness rules, but through a blackened death
a single flame revives me yet I am out of breath,
I’ll wander aimlessly but always find a home,
beneath the ashes of the streets that I have roamed.
Chorus
Take the hand that leads you,
far enough away to see that everything is nothing more than
who we are the emptiness that craters holes inside of me,
praying for another way home.
In "Beneath The Ashes", Fractured describes the fall of a corrupt society and the rise of a new, more just one. The lyrics suggest that the old society was built on lies and insecurity, and that it must collapse before something better can take its place. The chorus reflects a feeling of hopelessness and inevitability, as if the characters are resigned to their fate. Despite this, there is also a sense of acceptance - that they must face the abyss in order to move forward and truly value what is important.
The lines "into the emptiness to know what we must cherish" show that Fractured believes that in order to truly appreciate what is important, one must first face emptiness or despair. This theme of facing darkness in order to find light is echoed in the line "The darkness rules, but through a blackened death a single flame revives me."
The final lines of the song, "praying for another way home", suggest a desire for escape or a better path forward. However, throughout the song, Fractured emphasizes the inevitability of their fate. This creates an interesting tension within the lyrics - a sense of both surrender and hope.

Relax, everyone.
To you furries: You're going to get flak. Anything that's regarded as strange, abnormal, deviant, or anything not mainstream will get hate. Would someone get negative comments for having a furry picture? Sure. But so do people who aren't fitting their 'expected' gender roles or gender identification or sexual orientation. Why? Because people fear and dislike what's not normal to them.
To everyone else:
Why hate? I mean really, do you need to take the 30 seconds to try to hurt someone to make yourself feel better? Be open. Be accepting, learn from others and better yourself. To hate others for differences is to deny yourself the opportunity to grow as a person.
TL;DR, be nice.
Have a good one, and enjoy your music, everyone.

I'm a furry, and to be honest I give a shit, because its offensive and some people can take things to heart. I can be a very emotional person, perhaps that's a trait "we furries" get?
