I love the fact that Tramโs technique and articulation is still kept in-tact on the runs.

After hearing this, I've got three saxophones for sale.

A great post. Trumbauer's precision is remarkable. Some people claim that because of this he wasn't a true jazzman. What rubbish. He just did it his way and made it a possibility for others. Charlie Parker admitted he didn't have Trumbauer's technique. Not my bag, but as a blower myself, I had already reached that conclusion. Trumbauer's contribution to Singin the Blues is up there with Bix's in terms of conveying mood in a song. Funny how he chucked in the swing business for aeroplanes. I wish I had someone whose precise manual precision was as good as his at the controls any time I travelled by plane! Disappointed he died quite young, but we have his remarkable recordings with Bix et al. Incidentally, congrats to the person who wrote down his part on Trumbology with all these difficult timings. I greatly appreciate their/your musicianship! Thanks! Sam

Love this piece, its musicality and charm make it timeless. It's no surprise with gems like this Jazz defined an era and became the music of a generation.
