Nomadi
Giorgio Conte Lyrics

E il sole è più lontano
Lasciamo la pianura adesso
Adesso andiamo.
I bambini e le donne
Il cielo è nebbia e stona
Coi colori delle gonne.
Il rosso, il giallo, il viola
Contro il grigio della fame
Bagliori nella notte
Son l'argento, l'oro e il rame.
Nomadi, nati anche noi per vivere,
Nomadi, razza dannata nomadi,
Nomadi, senza frontiere, nomadi,
Nomadi, nomadi nomadi.
La carovana scende il passo
Entra in silenzio e va
Nell'alba sopra il mare
E un fascino ce l'ha.
Svegliatevi bambini e donne
Il cielo è un nastro rosa
S'intona col colore
Delle vostre belle gonne.
Il rosso, il giallo, il viola
Contro il grigio della fame
Bagliori contro il sole
Son l'argento, l'oro e il rame.
Nomadi, nati anche noi per vivere,
Nomadi senza bandiere nomadi,
Nomadi, razza dannata nomadi,
Nomadi, nomadi nomadi
The song "Nomadi" by Giorgio Conte describes the life of a group of nomads who are embarking on a journey during a harsh season. The first verse sets the scene of the bleakness of the time, with the sun being further away and the "acerbic season" having arrived. The second line seems to suggest that it's time for the group to leave the plains and move on. They depart while the children and women are sleeping, demonstrating the necessity of leaving in secrecy. The sky is covered with a haze and the colors of their clothing contrast with it: red, yellow, and purple against the gray of hunger. The group lights up the dark with the sheen of gold, silver, and copper.
The chorus of the song repeats the term "nomadi", which means "nomads", implying that the characters are part of that lifestyle. "Born to live" suggests that they are destined to be on this path, rather than it being a voluntary wandering. The "cursed race" refers to the fact that being a nomad may be isolating and difficult, with no sense of association to particular ethnicity or nation. The final line of the chorus reinforces the idea of constant travel: "nomadi, nomadi, nomadi".
In the second verse, the caravan moves through a pass and enters into the silence. The dawn above the sea has a beauty that appeals to them. The group awakens the sleeping women and children, now that they have reached a more peaceful place. The colors of the sky match their brightly colored clothing. The contrast of the colors and the mood of the sky continue to be emphasised.

In questo caso Arte e successo non sono proporzionati,
Giorgio Conte è un grande artista ed il suo successo non è proporzionato alla sua classe.
In fondo penso che a lui non interessi essere un fenomeno di massa.
