1) Poland's popular music act of the 1990s. The band was founded in Szczecin, Poland in 1992 by guitarist Piotr Banach and charismatic lead singer Kasia Nosowska.
Although Hey sometimes described themselves as Poland's first grunge band, their melodic, guitar-driven rock and eclectic appearance owed more to New Wave and heavy metal influences; their first three albums contained songs in both Polish and English. During the band's mid-1990s heyday, they sold out stadiums throughout Poland, and attempted to break into the English-language market with a series of concerts overseas and an English version of their 1995 album. When this failed to arouse interest, the band began to write in Polish only, and gradually adopted a harder-edged, more industrial-influenced sound.
2) A Korean female singer who had a hit called "Je t'aime", recorded in both Korean and French. She has released three albums so far, her latest being recorded in 2008. Little is known about the Korean Hey, but she is still active and promoting the latest EP. See 해이.
3) Only German project of heyrec label (see [[http://heyrec.org]]) is represented at Last.fm with its tune of "Hey - Sans Toi".
4) Japanese video game developer, Shohei Yuki (ユキ ショウヘイ). He composed FM Synth music for his games. Capitalization of the name for this artist is 'HEY'.
Na wieczność
Hey Lyrics

Upiornie siny ranek
Brzytwą z policzków
Usuwam sen - wraz z pianą
Krawat w kwadraty
Już salutuje w sieni
Ciepłą jak mleko
Śniłaś dziś sen
Ponury facet w palcie
Śmiercią, jak hostią
Częstował ludzi w metrze
Mówię Ci, że
Mówię Ci, że
Mówię Ci, że będzie OK
Ja wiem, juz nie mam pięciu lat
Że nic nie będzie wiecznie trwać
The song "Na wieczność" by Hey starts with an urgent call of attention ("Baczność!") and sets the scene of a ghostly, blue morning. The first verse talks about shaving off sleep (and perhaps something more sinister) with a razor, and saluting someone in a plaid tie in the living room. The image seems to suggest a military or institutional context, with strict rituals and schedules that leave no room for night-time adventures.
The second verse brings a shift in perspective, as the singer addresses a female character who had a disturbing dream about a man in a coat distributing death like a communion wafer in a subway (the Polish word "palec" means both "finger" and "criminal record", so the phrase "ponury facet w palcie" could be read as "grim man with a record"). The singer tries to reassure her that everything is going to be ok, but at the same time he admits that he knows he's not a child anymore and nothing lasts forever.
The song is full of ambiguity and allusions, leaving much to the listener's imagination. It could be read as a dystopian vision of a totalitarian regime that transforms people into obedient soldiers who reject their own emotions and dreams, or as a personal reflection on the difficulty of balancing duty and passion, conformity and rebellion, in a world that values efficiency and order above all else.
