HighasaKite make songs unlike most things yet to come out of Norway. Pop music with a twist. Let's start in Brooklyn. Via Monrovia to Piraeus and Norwegian mountaintops on to Stockholm.
Irresistible soundscapes full of tasty hooks and mysterious stories, musicians from some of Norways best young bands and then some – Highasakite is undoubtably one of the most original and exciting indiebands you’ve come across in a while.
Keyboards, zither, pounding drums and the occasional noise guitar together with Ingrid Helene's distinctive voice makes a delicious blend of exciting indie pop inspired by artists such as Lykke Li and the movie Where The Wild Things Are.
Highasakite's debut album "All That Floats Will Rain" has received rave reviews throughout the Norwegian press, some even calling it album of the year (Dagbladet) and saying that "No song on this album is redundant, it's all brilliantly brought to life. This, ladies and gentlemen, is pop music!"
Highasakite is playing many of Norways biggest and most important festivals this summer, amonst them Øya and Hove, in support of their debut album 'All That Floats Will Rain', out February 3rd 2012, on Norwegian indie label Riot Factory.
God Don’t Leave Me

I panic in my bedroom half asleep
God, don′t tempt me, I'm weak
And either way, it's a shitty way to leave
Creator of my awful mind
You crossed the line this time
You crossed the line this time
God, don′t leave me, I'll freeze
If only ′bout a second of your time
If only 'bout a second of your time
God, don′t leave me, I'll freeze
Like the last summer
God, don′t leave me, I'll freeze
Like the last summer (God, don't leave me out)
God, don′t leave me, I′ll freeze
Like the last summer (God, don't leave me now)
God, don′t leave me, I'll freeze
Like the last summer (God, don′t leave me now)
Like the last summer (God, don't leave me now)
Like the last summer (God, don′t leave me now)
Like the last summer
Like the last summer
Like the last summer (God, don't leave me now)
Like the last summer (God, don't leave me now)
Like the last summer
In "God Don't Leave Me," Highasakite appeals to a higher power for comfort and security. The lyrics touch on the vulnerability and fear that comes with being human and the possibility of being abandoned by a higher power. The first lines, "God, don't leave me, I'll freeze, I panic in my bedroom half asleep," paint a picture of desperation and fear. The singer is afraid of being left alone and helpless, which amplifies feelings of anxiety and dread.
The second verse provides insight into the singer's troubled mind. "Creator of my awful mind, you crossed the line this time" is a reference to the idea of predestination, where God is seen as the architect of one's fate. The line "It's been a long time since the phone rang and it was you" suggests a distant relationship with God, with the singer feeling abandoned and alone. In the chorus, the lyrics repeat the plea for God not to leave, which reflects a deep sense of fear and a need for comfort that only a higher power can provide.
Overall, "God Don't Leave Me" is an emotional and vulnerable song that delves into themes of abandonment, fear, and the desire for security. It demonstrates the power of music in allowing people to express their emotions and connect with others who may share similar experiences.
