Electro is just the shorter name of electronica. Which actually IS a genre. Electro house is a subgenre, yes, you are right, still it can be classified as a genre then. Progressive is indeed mostly used to describe the genre, trance/house <- examples. But if you call the ''genre'' progressive, this refers to ALL the progressisive tracks. And by saying ''dutch'' genre, I refer to the fact its a house with a ''subgenre'' dutch. PS, it's dutch house, not dutch electro. CBA to explain more.

Gotcha. I know. Although its premixed and he's mainly a producer it doesn't take away that he still has to perform his music and to do that, with all of the light shows, etc, he has to basically play a premixed set and uses ableton to TWEAK sounds on the fly while back of house (lights etc) is synced to the music. LOL, I'm not sure what to call it? DJ SET? LIVE PERFORMANCE LOL? At the end of the day, its not just two sl 1200's!

Um... Afrojack, David Guetta, Tiesto are by definition EDM... Electronic Dance Music... They are also mega stars, that started from nothing and worked their way up to be where they are. Tiesto has been in the game for a VERY long time, probably longer than you've been alive. Though I don't agree with their recent commercialization, they have paid their dues. (And I don't even like David Guetta, but even the all time greats like Armin will give him respect)

Actually, it is housemusic. David guetta = Mainstream and contains mostly a mix between house/electro influences. Afrojack = Clubscene, and contains mostly a mix between house/dutch house Deadmau5 = Mainly electro based, and is indeed not classified as House music. There you go.

umm no, look at his website in his bio. he explains why he isn't a dj. fuckit ill tell you anyways, he doesn't use turntables or discs or whatever, his performances are done by a variety of methods, he may use his analogue equipment or use ableton live.

Some screwed up kind for sure. Deadmau5 receives up to $100K per performance while Paris earns $500K minimum. For Deadmau5 to move up the only way is to associate with higher paid entertainers. There is nowhere else for him to go and earn more.

Why not? Both of them play pre-recorded sets. During their shows most of their equipment is turned off. I've seen them both live. They might be good producers but they are shit DJ's. At least this strumpet tried pressing the blinking lights to see what happened. She failed miserably.

Progressive is not a genre, it's when you do forward thinking things in a genre. Like how Meshuggah is called progressive Metal.
