But the real beginning was the song "Drogi" which appeared two years later on "Part One". It was Gutek's first album and Banach's tenth but in many ways his first as he recorded it in a way he had never before.
In 2002 a decision about making the second record was made. The first meeting after couple of years took place in much nicer surroundings - somewhere half way between Szczecin and Koszalin in the attic of the house, boarding with the forest, first song for the new album - "Mental Revolution" was born. Later "The Sign" and "The Sun" were polished although Banach got the idea for those two while in Greece.
It's a very cosmopolitan record - two Poles under Spanish-sounding name, recording Jamaican music, ideas of which were first born in France, Greece and Japan. Even if we try to place Indios Bravos' music somewhere in Poland it proofs to be very difficult. Gutek was born, grew-up and lives in Katowice. Banach on the other hand is from Szczecin and lives in Warsaw. Szczecin is also home of the musicians who make Indios Bravos - the live band because from October 2002 Indios Bravos is not just a studio project but a full band set.
The first gig was very humble. Gutek and Banach were supported on stage by Pawel Gawronski (keboard and backing vocals) and Krzysztof Sak (guitar). Later the band expanded and was joined by Ryszard Labul (bass), Przemek Filipkowski (keyboard) and Tomek Kubik (drums).
Nie pytaj
Indios Bravos Lyrics

Nie pytaj
Nie, nie, nie
Nie pytaj mnie co robić masz
Gdy nie wiesz,co masz zrobić
Bo choćbym pomóc bardzo chciał
To mógłbym Ci zaszkodzić
Bo bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Bo bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Nie powiem Ci, nie powiem Ci
Dokąd masz iść, dokąd masz iść
A dokąd masz nie chodzić
Sam sobie musisz wybrać cel
Sam wiedzieć jak to zrobić
Ja bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Ja bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Wskazując drogę zaszkodzić mogę
Oh oh
Ja bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę (mogę)
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Ja bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę (mogę)
Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę
Wskazując drogę zaszkodzić mogę
The lyrics of the song "Nie pytaj" by Indios Bravos convey a clear message of self-reliance and independence. The repeated refrain of "Nie pytaj" meaning "Don't ask" sets the tone for the singer's refusal to provide direct guidance or instructions to someone who is unsure of what to do. The lyrics caution against blindly following advice or directions from others, as even with the best intentions, the singer acknowledges that they could potentially cause harm by leading the listener astray.
The singer emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility and decision-making, highlighting that the listener must ultimately choose their own path and destination. The lines "Nie powiem Ci, nie powiem Ci / Dokąd masz iść, dokąd masz iść" suggest that the singer will not reveal the answers or directions to the listener, as the journey and decisions are theirs to make alone. This refusal to provide guidance reflects a belief in the individual's ability to navigate their own life and challenges.
The lyrics further emphasize the potential consequences of blindly following someone else's lead, with the singer stating, "Ja bardzo Ci zaszkodzić mogę / Nie Twoją Ci wskazując drogę" meaning "I could harm you greatly by showing you the way, not yours." This speaks to the complexity and risks involved in offering advice or direction, as one's best intentions may still result in negative outcomes for the recipient. The repetition of this warning underscores the seriousness of the message and highlights the singer's reluctance to intervene in the listener's choices.
In the final verses, the singer reiterates their ability to cause harm by pointing the way, emphasizing the potential pitfalls of relying on external guidance rather than trusting one's own instincts. The lines "Wskazując drogę zaszkodzić mogę" encapsulate the central theme of the song, reinforcing the idea that well-intentioned advice or direction can sometimes lead to unintended harm. Ultimately, "Nie pytaj" serves as a reminder of the importance of self-discovery, autonomy, and the risks associated with surrendering one's agency to others.
