Jeff Russo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

He'll chop off your limbs
And rip off your skin
And sew your pieces onto him
Stay at home, don't go out alone
Or the Patchwork Man will crack your bones
Or the Patchwork Man will crack your bones

Overall Meaning

The Patchwork Man by Jeff Russo is a haunting song that tells the story of an ominous creature that terrorizes people, known as the Patchwork Man. The lyrics paint a picture of a gruesome being that rips off people's skin and chops off their limbs, using their body parts to create a patchwork of a human. The creature is portrayed as a warning, as the song cautions listeners to beware of going outside alone, as the Patchwork Man will crack their bones.

Interpreting the lyrics, it's clear that the Patchwork Man is meant to be a metaphor for humanity's capacity for violence and destruction. The song highlights how people can be reduced to just pieces of a greater whole, and how our actions can deeply affect others. It's also a commentary on the fear that exists in society, and how we become more isolated and fearful when faced with unknown threats or dangers lurking in the shadows.

Overall, The Patchwork Man is a chilling reminder of the darker aspects of human nature, and how our actions can come back to haunt us.

reminds me of my poem:
I went to church and
I went to rehab
They didn't have the same problems that we had
I was insane but
we were a genius
You would have fried your little brain if you tried to achieve this
