Cuts and burns (cuts and burns)
My turn (my turn)
Shawty you're fake concerned (fake concerned)
The lesson is served
A lesson is learned (lesson learned)
Some much avoiding
Memories fading
Suddenly, suddenly
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Nothing lives (nothing lives)
There's nothing here (nothing there)
Your turn (your turn)
Shawty you're fake concerned (fake concerned)
Fractured emotions (fractured emotions
Zero devotion (zero)
The elements fading (blurred and hazy
Remains remaining (remains remaining)
Oh this so wuss (so wuss, so wuss)
This is so wuss unfortunately
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
Tell 'em, tell tell 'em where we are
No no she don't love him
No no she don't know what that is that
No no no he can not love, he not quite sure what that is
Just kiss
No no he don't love him, no no he don't know what that is
No no she don't love her, no no she not quite sure what that is
Just kiss
The lyrics of Kid Cudi's song Fairy Tale Remains tell the story of a relationship that is failing, and the singer's feelings of hopelessness and frustration in the face of this. The repeated phrase of "cuts and burns" is a metaphor for the emotional pain that he is going through as a result of the relationship. The line "nothing lives, there's nothing here" expresses his sense of utter emptiness and disappointment. He accuses his partner of being "fake concerned" and having "zero devotion", highlighting the sense of disconnection between them. The singer feels that the memories of their relationship are fading, and that there is nothing left of what they once had.
The chorus of the song, which repeats the phrase "tell 'em where we are" over and over again, can be interpreted in several ways. It could be a plea to his partner to be honest about the state of their relationship, or a request for help in finding a way out of this situation. Alternatively, it could be a recognition of the fact that they are both lost, and a desire to locate themselves in some way. Overall, the song is a powerful meditation on the pain and confusion of failed relationships, and the search for clarity and understanding that often follows.
