He spent eight years in Nashville before signing a record deal with MCA Nashville. His debut single, "Mary Was the Marrying Kind", peaked at #45 on the country singles charts published by Billboard.
On September 27, 2011, he released his second single, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck". The song was followed by the release of his debut album Up All Night in April 2012. Moore co-wrote every song on the album, and Brett James produced it. A month later, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" hit #1 on the Billboard country charts. "Beer Money" was the album's second single, followed by "Hey Pretty Girl". These songs also reached the country Top 5. Up All Night was the most commercially successful album for a debut country male artist in both 2012 and 2013.
Moore co-wrote two tracks on Thompson Square's self-titled debut album which was released in February 2011: "All the Way" and "Let's Fight", the latter of which was their debut single. He also co-wrote James Wesley's 2012 single "Walking Contradiction". He also co-wrote Frankie Ballard's 2016 single "Cigarette".
In October 2013, Moore announced his fifth single, "Young Love". It charted at #22 on the Country Airplay in March 2014. After it underperformed, it was followed by "Dirt Road", which failed to make Top 40. Moore then decided to "scrap" his second album and compose new material. Moore then released "I'm to Blame", the lead single to his 2015 album, Wild Ones.
On February 10, 2017, Moore released "More Girls Like You" as the lead single from a then-unannounced forthcoming album.
On June 21, 2017, Moore announced the album's title, Slowheart, and its release date of September 8, 2017.
On November 16, 2018, Moore released his second EP titled Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions. Three singles were released in preparation for the EP: "Tennessee Boy," an acoustic version of "Plead the Fifth," and "It Ain't California." The EP consists of seven acoustic tracks.
In May 2019, Moore announced on social media "That's a wrap, record #4 is done". No release date had been officially announced, but on June 15 Moore announced he was checking mixes for his upcoming record, indicating the record may be released sometime in 2019.
On August 9, 2019, Moore released a much-anticipated lead single to his yet to be named upcoming album. "She's Mine" is a song Moore wrote over a decade ago, and finally released it in 2019.
On March 27, 2020, Moore released the title track for his fourth studio album titled Wild World. Later that same day, Moore did an interview with Billboard about his new album. The album, which consists of 13 tracks (twelve of which are co-written by Moore), was released on May 29, 2020. Another preview song, "Southpaw", followed on April 17, 2020.

Staring through the window at the empty cold
Thick white smoke rolling off my lips
My chest feeling heavy like a cannon ball
Got sweat rolling down me like a waterfall
'Cause I let love slip through my fingertips
Hey, ah
I'm a raging fire, you're my hearts desire
Slipping in and out of a restless sleep
Thinking and wonderin' if you are thinking of me
Or are you long gone girl, holding another man
The thought brings me right up to the brink of rage
Like a lion in rusted out circus cage
I want to break these bars and make you understand
Ooh ooh,
Hey, ah
I'm a raging fire, you're my hearts desire
When I finally settle in to a midnight dream
You're walking through a field of flowers smiling at me
So I reach right out and try to touch your skin
Then a morning breeze blows and I almost taste your sweet scent drippin' on my pillow case
Damn this day, here I go again
Ooh ooh
Hey, ah
I'm a raging fire, you're my hearts desire
I don't think I can really take no more
Like a prize fighter laying on the canvas floor
I hear the clock bell ring struggle to my feet
I've been 52 rounds with your memory
I'd go 52 more if it make you see
Girl you mean the world to me
Ooh ooh
Hey, ah
I'm a raging fire, your my hearts desire
Ooh ooh
Hey, ah
I'm a raging fire, your my hearts desire
Ooh ooh
Hey, ah
The lyrics of Kip Moore's "Heart's Desire" tell the story of a man who is struggling to move on from a past love. The song starts with the man describing his current mood, feeling heavy-hearted like a "cannon ball," and smoking a thick white smoke as he stares out his window. He thinks about the love he lost and how he let it "slip through his fingertips." He then declares that he's a "raging fire" and that his lover is his "heart's desire."
As the song continues, he confesses to slipping in and out of a restless sleep as he wonders whether his lover thinks of him or is with someone else. The thought of her being with another man makes him angry and fuels his desire to break free of his feelings of hurt and longing. In his dreams, she appears to him, but he wakes up to the reality of another day without her.
The song concludes with the man refusing to give up on his love, regardless of how hard it may be to move on. He compares himself to a prizefighter, getting back up each time he's knocked down, ready to fight for his love again. The song's chorus repeats throughout, emphasizing the man's longing for his "heart's desire."
Overall, the song is an emotional journey through the stages of heartbreak and longing, showcasing the depth of emotion that Kip Moore is known for conveying in his music.

The reason I love Kip Moore over most country artists these days is that you can tell he writes his own music and that it comes from the heart. Hard to find music like that these days...
