Their 2006 album debut From KK to Kumbia All-Starz reached number one on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums chart, number one on the Top Latin Albums chart, and number sixty-eight on the Billboard 2001. The album spawned two charting singles, "Chiquilla" (which reached number seven on Hot Latin Tracks, number nine on Latin Regional Mexican Airplay, number twenty-six on Latin Pop Airplay and number thirty-one on Latin Tropical Airplay) and "Parece Que Va A Llover" (which reached number thirty-three on Latin Regional Mexican Airplay).
Many members of Kumbia All Starz and Los Super Reyes were formerly together as Kumbia Kings, which had lots of success but unfortunately, this was bittersweet for the group amidst the controversy and love/hate relationship between the co-founders of Kumbia Kings, A.B. Quintanilla and Cruz Martínez, as well as the other members and ex-members of the group.
A.B. Quintanilla left the group and early in the summer of 2006 formed Kumbia All Starz.

The lyrics to the Kumbia All Starz's song "Intro" serves as an introduction to the world of cumbia music. The first line, "Bienvenidos al planeta cumbia" (Welcome to the cumbia planet), sets the stage for the listener to anticipate and experience the unique sounds and rhythms of the cumbia genre. The words, "Sus cuerpos van a experimentar cambios repentinos y profundos / Al entrar en contacto con la atmosfera del planeta cumbia" (Your bodies are going to experience sudden and profound changes / By coming into contact with the atmosphere of the cumbia planet) suggest a transformation that takes place when an individual is exposed to the world of cumbia music.
The lyrics then shift to a reassuring tone, "Pero no se alarmen" (But do not be alarmed), highlighting that the changes experienced are positive and euphoric. The words "moverse y bailar sin poder detenerse / Son solo algunos de los efectos de visitar al planeta cumbia" (The ability to move and dance without being able to stop / Are just some of the effects of visiting the cumbia planet) reveal how the genre creates a sense of rhythm and dance that is irresistible. The final phrase, "Aterrizamos en cuatro, tres, dos..." (We landed at four, three, two...), implies that we have arrived in the cumbia planet and the journey is about to begin.
