In 1997 the band released its first eponymous album, which was very successful and earned them lots of radio and TV air play and album sales. In 1999 they recorded "Kaleidoscopio", selling over 5,000 copies. Then the band took a hiatus due to the departure of Michel Maluje to Mexico, where he played with Julieta Venegas. In 2005 the band (now including Rodrigo Velasco) returned to the studio to record "Distinto". After that release, the band decided to go their separate ways. None of the two last albums had been as successful as the first one and their hype began to die out.
Francisco Valenzuela released a solo album named "Sirenas" in 2009 and from 2017 onwards he continued to play some gigs under the name "La Rue Morgue" with some of his students in Escuela Moderna de Música, a private music institute in Chile in which he worked as a teacher. On july 7th, 2022, Valenzuela was admitted into the ICU after suffering a stroke. Seven days later, on july 14th, his death was confirmed.
Sigues Dando Vueltas
La Rue Morgue Lyrics

Quise no ser y aún soy.
Quise volar con mis sueños,
Pero tu silueta lo desbarató.
Hace mil años, tal vez
yo habria sido tu rey.
Luchar con muchos dragones
Dime donde quedó
ese extraño poder
Entrar por una ventana
y nunca salirte de mi corazón.
Debo admitir que todo
es muy distinto sin ti...
Sigues dando
vueltas en mi cabeza,
dando vueltas...
Debo admitir que todo
es muy distinto sin ti...
Que no me apaguen la luz
que necesito encontrar
Buscar en cada rincón
los pedazos del tiempo
que vimos crecer.
Y el fin de esto es igual.
Alguno debe llorar
Mentir por última vez,
aunque sea un poquito
para revivir.
Debo admitir que todo
es muy distinto sin ti.
Sigues dando
vueltas en mi cabeza,
dando vueltas...
Debo admitir que todo
es muy distinto sin ti (dando vueltas)
Debo admitir que todo
es muy distinto, sin ti...
The lyrics of La Rue Morgue's song Sigues Dando Vueltas are reflective and sad, conveying the singer's innermost feelings about a failed relationship. The words suggest regret and longing, as the singer expresses his wish to have changed or acted differently in the past so that the relationship would have survived. The opening lines "Quise mentir y aquí estoy. Quise no ser y aún soy" (I wanted to lie and here I am. I wanted not to be and I am still) suggest that the singer had desired to deceive the partner, and yet he finds himself still present, with all of his flaws and imperfections.
The lyrics also seem to reflect a sense of helplessness and loss, as the singer reflects back on a time when he could have been the partner's king, fighting dragons and making love on his throne but that time has long gone, and he now finds himself still caught up in thoughts of his ex-partner. The words "Debo admitir que todo es muy distinto sin ti" (I must admit that everything is very different without you) repeat throughout the song, expressing the singer's inability to move on from the past and the longing for the lost relationship.
Overall, the song is a beautiful expression of heartbreak, regret, and poignant longing, with lyrics and melody that are perfect for anyone who has experienced the pain of a relationship gone wrong.
