The sextette began working on their debut album "Gusła". The compositions were being created gradually and carefully due to the fact that the band was willing to do a concept album completely devoted to Polish Medieval culture. They went through several preproductions, they thought deeply about their extraordinary sound, lyrics and additional effects that could illustrate the presented world. Lao Che created crossover type of music, since all the members of the band had previous experience in death and doom metal and they wanted to mix up other genres as well. A lot of different styles were incorporated in their music: ambient, rock, metal, folk, reggae and the classical one too. It took them 2 years to complete the project. When everything was recorded, Sp Records released "Gusła" album in January 2002.
In May 2002 Warz left the band and he was repleaced by Krojc. Then Lao Che started playing live on stage in different places of Poland. In January 2003 another musician - Trocki - joined them to create a septet. In this line-up Lao Che began working on their second concept album: "Powstanie Warszawskie" ("The Warsaw Uprising"). The approach to composing the music was based on previous experience with Gusła and it took the band 2 years to complete another album. It was recorded in Obuh Studio (Analogue Rogalow) with the use of old equipment from the sixties and the seventies. A few microphones were even from the thirties. "Powstanie Warszawskie" was released by ARS Mundi Records in March 2005. They have released their first live DVD titled just like their sophomore record in May 2006.
Their third album "Gospel" was released on 22 February 2008 and the first single from this record is "Drogi Panie".
Życie jest jak w tramwaj

Coś mi wypadło nie powiem do widzenia
Szarży pewnego tramwaju jakoś nie odparłem
Dziś raczej nie wpadnę
Bo umarłem
Manewry motorniczy miał nazbyt brawurowe
Tramwaj bez pardonu hulnął i odebrał mi głowę
Komunalne Linie granda
Oddać głowę dranie
U u u u umarłem
U u u u umarłem
U u u u umarłem
U u u u umarłem
A ostrzegli anieli
Skrzydła mieli jak te Messerschmitty
Niech Pan uważa
Bo Pan umrze
I będzie pan chodził zabity
A ostrzegli anieli
Skrzydła mieli jak te Messerschmitty
Niech Pan uważa
Bo Pan umrze
I będzie pan chodził zabity
In the song "Życie jest jak w tramwaj" by Lao Che, the lyrics depict a tragic story of a fatal accident involving a tram. The singer expresses that they cannot come today because they are no longer present, implying that they have died. They mention that something fell out of them and they did not have a chance to say goodbye. The imagery of being unable to resist the charge of a certain tram emphasizes their powerlessness in the face of death.
The lyrics go on to describe the reckless maneuvers of the tram driver, whose bold actions lead to a catastrophic collision that results in the loss of the singer's head. There is a sense of bitterness and resignation as the singer laments that their head will never be the same again and curses the tram company for their negligence. The repetition of "I have died" reinforces the finality and inevitability of their fate.
The mention of angels with wings like Messerschmitts serves as a warning to the listener to be cautious because death can strike unexpectedly. The imagery of walking around as if dead suggests a haunting presence or a lingering spirit that remains after physical demise. The repetition of the angelic warning underscores the theme of mortality and the fragile nature of life.
The recurring refrain of not being able to come today because they are no longer there echoes the singer's acceptance of their fate and the abruptness of their departure. The comparison of life to a tram emphasizes the idea that one must know when to disembark, drawing a parallel between riding a tram and navigating the journey of life. The reference to the writer stating that life is like a tram further reinforces the transient and unpredictable nature of existence, urging listeners to be mindful of their choices and actions. The aggressive imagery of wanting to avenge oneself but being unable to, combined with the final declaration of death, leaves a haunting and contemplative impression on the listener.

"Niech Pan uważa. Bo Pan umrze. I będzie Pan chodził...zabity. Niech Pan uważa na ludzi." Jak dla mnie te słowa wystarczają. Genialne.
