Head On
Legião Urbana Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As soon as I get my head round you
I come around catching sparks off you
I get an electric charge from you
That second hand living it just won't do
And the way I fell tonight
I could die and I wouldn't mind
And there's something going on inside
Makes you want to feel makes you want to try
I can't stand up I cant' cool down
I can't get my head off the ground
As soon as I get my head round you
I come around catching sparks off you
And all I ever got from you
Was all ever took from you
And the world could die in pain
And I wouldn't feel no shame
And there's nothing holding me to blame
Makes you want to feel makes you want to try
Makes you want to blow the stars from sky

I'm taking myself to the dirty part of town
Where all my troubles can't be found

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Legião Urbana's song "Head On" are full of raw emotions and complex feelings. The opening line, "As soon as I get my head round you," seems to suggest a sense of confusion or uncertainty. The singer is struggling to understand someone, but at the same time, there is an undeniable attraction between them. They say they "come around catching sparks" off of this person, indicating a powerful physical and emotional connection.

The second verse reveals that the singer is dissatisfied with their current way of living, feeling trapped in a "second hand" existence. However, they feel alive when they're with this person, describing an "electric charge" that they get from them. They're willing to put everything on the line for this feeling, saying they "could die and wouldn't mind."

The last two verses repeat the idea of wanting to feel and try, conveying a sense of longing and desire. The line "Makes you want to blow the stars from the sky" is particularly poignant, suggesting a sense of intense passion and determination. The final line, "I'm taking myself to the dirty part of town where all my troubles can't be found" could be interpreted in different ways - maybe the singer is going to a place of self-destructive behavior, or they're going to get lost in the excitement and chaos of the city. Overall, "Head On" is a powerful and emotional song about the thrill of connection and the desperate search for meaning and purpose.

Anderson Fernandes

@Gustavo Reis Sim, creio que ele tenha se baseado na versão do Pixies, que tinha sido lançado no ano anterior a gravação do acústico.
Aliás, a versão do Pixies é a melhor, na minha opinião.

Gustavo Reis

é praticamente um cover de um cover igual o do Pixies

Tiago Amaral

Classico dos The Jesus and Mary Chain, delicia a sonolaridade punk, ele nunca abandonou.

Space Junk

@yuhwell bem observado. Talvez eu tenha me equivocado haha
