After a return to college to focus on her studies, Hesketh along with two of her fellow students formed the electronic/indie pop band Dead Disco in 2005. The band had limited releases of their four singles but due to increasingly different ideas about the band's musical direction, Hesketh left to pursue a solo career. Hesketh has cited as influences The Human League, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, and Jean-Michel Jarre.
Hesketh began writing her own songs and posting covers on the social networking sites such as YouTube and MySpace. After appearing on several shows including Later... with Jools Holland and Last Call with Carson Daly, Hesketh entered production on her debut album. With increasing media attention regarding her then-yet-to-be-released debut album, Hesketh topped the BBC Sound of 2009 poll and received a BRIT Critics Choice nomination. She has been linked to a wave of breakthrough female artists in their twenties playing 1980s-influenced music, including Lady Gaga, Ladyhawke, Florence and the Machine, and Elly Jackson of La Roux.
Her debut album, Hands, was released on 8 June 2009 on 679 Recordings and Atlantic Records to generally positive reviews. The album peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart and at number twenty on the Irish Albums Chart. Hands included a collaboration with Phil Oakey from The Human League on the song "Symmetry". The first single off the album "New in Town" became a top twenty hit, while the next single "Remedy", produced by RedOne, reached the top ten. She has also released the EP Illuminations in the United States.
Little Boots' second album, Nocturnes, was released on 5 May 2013 on her own label On Repeat.

Little Boots Lyrics

Wasted forever, now I'm coming around
I was moving up, you were going down
Never gonna stop, a king without a crown
Do you remember? Do you remember?!
You were my hero, I was your heroine
You were my hero, I was your heroine
Do you remember I was your heroine,
Wasted forever, now I'm coming around
What have we become? Where are we now?
Are we hanging on? Are we gonna drown?
Do you remember ? Do you remember ?!
You were my hero! hero
You were my hero, I was your heroine
You were my hero, I was your heroine
I was your heroine
I was your heroine
I was moving up, you were going down
Never gonna stop, a king without a crown
Do you remember? Do you remember?
You were my hero, I was your heroine
You were my hero, I was your heroine
You were my hero
You were my hero
You were my hero, I was your heroine
The lyrics of Little Boots's song 'Heroine' capture the memories of a passionate and intense romantic relationship that has now faded away into the depths of the past. Addressed from the perspective of one of the partners, the song touches on the theme of emotional dependence and the role that each partner plays in their relationship dynamic. The first verse uses the metaphor of a drug addiction to describe the relationship, with the singer as the 'heroine' and her partner as the 'hero' who has now let her down. The chorus reaffirms these roles, as she reminds him that he was her hero, while she was his heroine.
The second verse focuses on the aftermath of the relationship, with the singer wondering where they stand now and if they are still holding on to each other or drifting apart. She acknowledges that the relationship might have been toxic and doubts whether they are going to survive the aftermath. Throughout the song, the singer seems to be searching for clarity and closure, trying to come to terms with the fact that the person who once meant the world to her is no longer her hero. The song's lyrics are simple and to the point, yet manage to convey complex emotions and themes effectively.

Disturbing?
You have a low threshold for visual stimuli cat:/
though I must admit I mostly play vids without video..
that said, I thought it was a fine background.
PS The opposite of 'exhilaration' is rest,
as you elude to - balance man, balance.

Be nice out there, and I hope you get your individuality back:(
In these times, it seems especially
the world is set to take it from us.
Farewell - first stand for self (all);
help the next after that.
