1) Lonestar is an American country music group consisting of Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar, background vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums), Dean Sams (keyboards, melodica, background vocals), and Michael Hill (Bass Guitar). McDonald left the band in November 2007 for a solo career before returning in 2011. During that time, Cody Collins, who had formerly been in another country group called McAlyster, replaced McDonald as the band's lead vocalist. John Rich was also the group's bass guitarist and second lead vocalist until 1998, when he was fired from the group. He left for a solo career, before joining Big Kenny in the duo Big & Rich in 2003. Since Rich's departure, Lonestar has not had an official bass guitarist.
The group began having major country hits in 1995, with the top 10 hit "Tequilla Talking." Their first No. 1 hit was "No News," which spent three weeks at the top of Billboard magazine's Hot Country Singles chart in 1996.
Lonestar's signature song is "Amazed," a ballad which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's country chart during the summer of 1999. The song subsequently climbed to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart, the first country act to accomplish the feat since 1983's "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

My 2nd husband said he didn't just scratch on the 8 ball, he popped the cue ball off the table when I walked in, later when this song came out he said it captured the moment well. I have no idea how we even came to be. I'd gone up to the City to Grahams & boy was I was in a mood that night; my bitch on wheels was rollin in high gear. I remember it well, I was there for a purpose. I didn't want to smile, or chat, or flirt. I just wanted to dance & get drunk, chasin the ghost of the man who had kneecapped my heart a few months earlier, re-living the last place we had been together.
But alas, my Hubby-to-be kept pestering me. I was such a bitch, Idk why he was so persistent & didn't just say to hell with you lady, I'd certainly deserved it. He has a unique name (a Jr., no less). I was a regular smart ass & said boy your mama really liked you, didn't she? In fact, I didn't think I could ever marry him & take his last name, but it did grow on me. I came to like it so well, plus that was my name when I established my career as a hair cutter & all my clients knew me by that, I kept it as my middle name when I married 3rd hubby. Funny how that worked out. I asked what he did for a living, he said he was an MP at Tinker & a reserve County Sheriff. I said boy you work hard don't you? (Seriously, I'd just walked away if someone was being that big of a shit to me). That was before I knew that there are many idiots who go onto a Federal Institution & break the law; the cops at the base really are busy to my surprise.
I don't recall ever being that big a bitch to any dude in entire life as I was to him that night. We did end up dancing quite a bit, but it didn't get any better. When the club closed, he walked me to my car being the gentleman he is. I didn't even pucker up for a good night kiss, I just said thanks for the dance, see ya later bye. Cold as ice I was that night, so imagine my surprise when he called the next day. I really wasn't interested, but I guess I'd decided I was shot thru the heart by the one that got away, so I might as well throw in the towel. Couple of months later in Dec '89, we got hitched; my fun loving decade of being a single 80's lady was over, I hung up my dancin' boots. I just never envisioned he would be the one who would be my lion tamer, bringing an end to my glory decade. I could have done a lot worse though; he wasn't bad looking, a nice guy, a good provider & great with my daughter. Her dad was mia, so she needed a good one around, but that really wasn't a good reason to get married.
Although I did grow to love him, I can't say I was ever "madly in love with him". There was never any heat or passion, it was just lukewarm deal. Which I guess in the grand scheme of things, there's worse things than that & it is sustainable. The bad part of it (since I didn't have to work for it just a little bit), there was no thrill of the chase/conquer for me in the beginning, so he never had my full attention & it only lasted 6 years. I certainly don't regret that season of my life, but he probably just wishes he'd just let me walk on by that night & just a kept on a playing pool, especially since I left him for a sociopath asshole (didn't know that at the time).
Now that is the one I regret, he doesn't get a song. That one has ruined my life to this day. After all the screwing around I did in the 80's, in '96 I get knocked up & stuck with this jerk. Being 35, divorced & pregnant was not in my plans for myself when I grew up. I tell ya what though, any bad karma I had coming, I've more than paid for it. In fact, I should have credits somewhere.

Love 90s country! My favorite decade! I can't believe it's been 25 years since this song was done! Where has time gone? Country music needs to get back to sounding like this! I quit listening to new releases around 2006 or so. Country isn't country anymore 😔.

The album's second single; "You Walked In" was released on August 26, 1997. Written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and Bryan Adams. Steven Goldmann directed the song's music video. This was also the band's last video feature bass guitarist and co-lead vocalist John Rich, before he left Lonestar for a solo career in 1998, and joining Big Kenny to form Big & Rich.
