Remission Time
Lowgold Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now I've seen you
Sick for a while, but I'm okay
When I'm with you
It's not hard to find
The reason why I feel good
I'll spend all my
Didn't drop by today
Is something wrong?
Someone new
Fit and well
Has come along
It's not so easy to live
Now I know
I'll spend all my
Remission time alone
It's not so easy to live
Now I know
I'll spend all my
Remission time alone
The above lyrics depict a sense of dependency on another person for emotional wellbeing during a time of illness or discomfort. The first verse highlights the relief of being in the presence of the person and the feeling of being okay despite falling ill, as if the illness doesn't seem to matter when that person is around. The second verse indicates a change in the relationship dynamic as the singer worries that the absence of the person means they have found someone new. The line "it's not so easy to live" emphasizes the vulnerability and potential loneliness one may experience during a time of illness. The final line repeats the idea of spending the time of remission alone, indicating a sense of acceptance of their situation as well as a possible sadness.
Overall, the lyrics suggest that the singer finds comfort in the presence of the other person during a difficult time, but also struggles with the possibility of being without them.
