Hugo Leclercq (born May 30, 1994), known by his stage name Madeon, is a self-described "electro-pop-house-whatever" producer from Nantes, France.

Leclercq started composing music at the age of 11, and adopted a nu-disco style under the name "Madeon" in 2010. In the fall of that year, at the age of just 16, he gained popularity for his award-winning remix of The Island by Pendulum which was praised by the likes of Skrillex and Pendulum front-man Rob Swire.

In 2011, he created a remix for Yelle's "Que veux-tu", and then went on to remix deadmau5's Raise Your Weapon which was praised by deadmau5 himself on Facebook and other social utilities. In the summer of 2011, a
YouTube video of his live mashup "Pop Culture" went viral, which combines 39 pop hits into one song. As of November 2012, it has approximately fifteen million hits.

Leclercq has been featured on 15 Minutes of Fame, a segment of Pete Tong's radio show on BBC Radio 1. Also on the 27th of January 2012 he played a 20 minute set as part of a show organised by Pete Tong to showcase up and coming stars in Electronic music. He included some of his own songs such as Pop Culture and Icarus, as well as merging songs together; These ranged from Shuriken alongside Que Veux Tu and DJ, to M83's Midnight City being played on top of a Madeon edit of Blitz by Digitalism.

Leclercq has cited The Beatles and Daft Punk as his greatest musical influences. He is also known to use Novation's Launchpad for his live performances, and FL Studio as his music production program of choice.

A debut EP was scheduled to be released in 2012, but then cancelled in favour of multiple singles, the first of which – Icarus – is planned to be released in February 2012.

Mid 2012 Madeon teamed up with one of EDM’s favorite voices, Ellie Goulding, to produce Stay Awake. The track was meant for Ellie’s Halcyon album, but wasn’t delivered in time. It made a standalone release in March 2013.

It wasn't until 2015 that Madeon's debut album, Adventure, was released by Columbia. The album reached number one on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart and featured hit singles such as Pay No Mind and Nonsense. Alongside the album's release were two headlining tours.

2016 gave way to a collaboration with artist Porter Robinson to create the animated single Shelter. The song has gained over thirty-five million views as of September 2018 and was played live alongside many others of the artist's previous tracks during the Shelter Live tour.

The end of the song after 5:06-5:30 brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to this pice of art. Throughout the whole song it seems as if its talking about someones life and the trials they went through. The it gets to that part and it expesses the thought of coming to the end of a journey and resting. At the very end your getting ready for another adventure. Good luck.

I remember hearing this at Technicolor Dreams - in Toronto. Back before Madeon was not too well known and playing at just underground venues. I knew then, this...this is ingenious. The layers in this song, the pace build up and drop and how they fit are a true masterpiece. Mozart level composition here.

Out of all the songs/ tracks of Adventure, this is my favorite one. For a track called Technicolor, it's not only a nice name, but to me, it instrumentality matches the title. The soft chiptune bleeps, the indie rock guitars, even the morse code beeps at the end is a nice touch. It's just an all around colorful track and a colorful album.

I play electronic music for people that swear by the Top 40 all the time and the reaction is always the same. I say: "Dunno if you'll like this, but give it a listen" and once the track gets going the listener always says something along the line of "OMG this is so cool, what is this" and from that point I end up sending them tracks and artists I know and like, especially Madeon. I was in my parents car going back from a trip to florida when I first listened to this song. I remember it was cloudy and quiet with a bittersweet feeling of my life changing as I cried. Its the melodies and unique sounds that relate to your pain. The journey we face doesn't have to be alone. Madeon created something truly beautiful that cant be put into words. If you want to hear some good complicated music, listen to Pat Metheny or some other jazz artist. Although this music may sound good and cool, it is baseline easy and not complex whatsoever. So if you're telling us that this track is not complex , you're getting it wrong .

This song generally shows so much emotions without even having vocals. It feels like a whole storyline with up and downs. A few years ago I remember I was 15 and listening to this song and my mom was like "can't you play something with vocals? This sounds like it's missing something. Without any singing it's just noise" so I was basically saying exactly the same while stating that it takes a lot more talent to evoke emotions just by melodies without using words. So she told me to play it again and actually listened carefully to it (was pretty new because she never really liked my music) and after that she surprisingly agreed. So yeah... That's the storyline of my mother probably the first time agreeing with me. Thanks Madeon :D

I think the best song Madeon has made so far. I always love the choruses of Madeon's songs, but the middle parts are not up to par with the amazing choruses. With this song, I think we can all see Madeon's musicality develop. Can't wait for him to release his debut album!

In terms of composition and production, this is one of the best songs I have ever heard! I think it's quite an underrated song, personally I would regard it as one of the greats along with the ecstasy of gold by Ennio Morricone! Also, I read somewhere that Madeon envisioned a story to be reflected from the song and it's structure, which I think is a very clever and creative approach to song writing,I think it would be brilliant if he ever did any sound track work for a film!
