Maite Perroni was only eleven months old when she and her family moved to Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco in Mexico. Her father, Javier Perroni, was transferred to that city by his job, where the Perroni family lived for twelve years. She has two brothers; Adolfo, who is three years younger, and Francisco (Paco), who is nine years younger than she. Maite, or "Mai" as her closest friends call her, studied acting in Televisa's Centro De Educación Artistica (CEA) in the year 2000, completing two years of a three year program.
She made her debut as an actress in Televisa's teen series Rebelde, where she portrayed Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernandez, who comes from a very humble family and gets the opportunity to study at the fictitious Elite Way School, one of the most prestigious schools in Mexico City, thanks supposedly to her excellent grades. Maite was also a member of the popular Mexican band RBD, which was formed during the recording of the series and became a phenomenon around Latin America, United States, and parts of Europe. The other members of RBD (Dulce María, Anahí, Alfonso Herrera, Christian Chávez and Christopher Uckermann) were also cast in Rebelde.
From 2008, the year RBD was over, until 2012, Maite dedicated herself to her actress career starring in four Televisa's soap operas, Cuidado con én ángel, Mi Pecado, Triunfo del Amor and Cachito de Cielo but always has been involved on music, releasing songs for her telenovelas' soundtracks, as Esta Soledad, Mi Pecado featuring the Mexican group Reik and A Partir de Hoy, a duet with the Italian singer Marco Di Mauro.
In 2013, she starred the telenovela La Gata and released her first solo album called Eclipse de Luna, which debuted in 3rd position on the main table of Mexican albums and got to ninth position on the Billboard Latin Album and second in Latin Pop Albums. From this album, she worked on four songs as singles, Tú y Yo, Eclipse de Luna, Vas a Querer Volver, main theme song of "La Gata" and Todo Lo Que Soy, the last one a duet with Alex Ubago and the couple's theme in her soap opera "La Gata". After this work, Maite was considered as the new Queen of Bachata.
In 2016, she will release her second solo album, still to be anounced. In this new album, Maite will put aside the bachata rhythm, which made her sucessfull on music and will focus on others horizons, influenced by urban and pop music. She is also starting a new tour by middle of July, called "Tour Love", having the first concerts in Brazil and heading to Spain in August.

De una señal desde tu mirada,
Buscando miel entre tus palabras,
Viviendo en la palma de tu mano
Y el corazón todo
Alborotado, alborotado.
Y aunque sea un sueño
Voy intentar hasta lo imposible,
La magia blanca o la brujería
O algún brebaje en agua bendita.
Agua bendita.
Agua bendita
En el toloache y la hierbabuena,
Pa' que me quieras toda la vida,
Pa' que termine con esta pena.
Agua bendita
Agua bendita.
Agua bendita
En el toloache y la hierbabuena,
Pa' que me quieras toda la vida,
Pa' que termine con esta pena.
Agua bendita
Un chupamirto y algo de incenso,
Pa' que me quieras toda la vida,
Pa' que tu sientas amor del bueno.
Ay ay ay, con el agua bendita,
Ay ay ay con el agua bendita.
Agua bendita
En el toloache y la hierbabuena,
Pa' que me quieras toda la vida,
Pa' que termine con esta pena.
Agua bendita
Un chupamirto y algo de incenso,
Pa' que me quieras toda la vida,
Pa' que tu sientas amor del bueno.
Ay ay ay con el agua bendita.
The lyrics to Maite Perroni's "Agua Bendita" tell the story of a woman hopelessly in love with someone who doesn't seem to notice her. Despite feeling invisible to this person, she remains hopeful and determined to win their love. Throughout the song, she sings about trying everything from white magic to witchcraft to win over the person she desires.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Agua Bendita," which translates to "holy water" in English. The woman sings about using this holy water in different ways, accompanied by herbs and incense, to make the person she loves notice her and feel true love for her. The repetition of these phrases and the hopeful tone of the song convey the desperation and determination of the woman in her quest for love.
Overall, the song speaks to the universal theme of unrequited love and the lengths people will go to win the affection of someone they desire. The use of religious imagery and traditional remedies adds depth and texture to the lyrics, and the catchy melody and upbeat tempo make the song a fun and lively addition to any playlist.
