They are known by their endearing fans both for their energetic stage performances and their unique stage covers of classic rock songs.

En septembre 2016, le groupe se reforme avec l'arrivée du guitariste Manu Baroux (Astonvilla, Axel Bauer, Tristan Nihouarn) en remplacement de Sammy18. Une tournée démarre en février 2017 avec notamment un passage à l'Olympia le 2 mars 201719. Le single Marée haute est dévoilé le 17 janvier20, accompagné d'un clip le 17 février21. Les paroles dénoncent l'addiction au pouvoir et le détournement d'argent.

Onze nouvelles chansons sortent le 3 mars dans un 5e album studio intitulé Plates coutures22. L'enregistrement est réalisé en Angleterre sous la direction artistique de Bruno Green (Détroit) et le mastering a lieu dans les mythiques studios Abbey Road à Londres fin 201623. Résolument rock, l'album présente des textes concernés par les problèmes de société24.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Matmatah's song "Casi El Silencio" reflect on the consequences of man's actions and achievements. The chorus begins with a list of cities around the world, where the silence is almost palpable. The verses, however, seem to describe the actions of a group or society that has managed to "put everyone in agreement" through the use of uranium, which seems to suggest either nuclear warfare or the exploitation of this hazardous material for economic or political gain.
