Na 'Tan I Psihi Mou Petra
Melina Aslanidou Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
In Melina Aslanidou's song "Na 'Tan I Psihi Mou Petra," the lyrics convey a deep sense of longing and desire for a life untainted by falsehood and disappointment. The first verse expresses a wish for the singer's soul to be as solid as a rock, growing in strength and truth, able to withstand the weight of lies heavier than ever before. The imagery of a rock symbolizes stability and resilience, suggesting a yearning for a stronger foundation in the face of deceit.
Building on this theme, the second verse paints a picture of a life made of steel, resistant to being dragged onto a dark path, praying for a moment when the heart doesn't falter. The contrasting elements of steel and a black carpet evoke a struggle between strength and vulnerability, highlighting the desire to remain steadfast and unyielding despite challenging circumstances.
The subsequent verses delve into the complexities of the mind and heart when confronted with the intensity of love. The lyrics describe how the mind becomes restless during the fever of the day, and when love transforms into fire and air, consuming everything in its path. This portrayal of passion and desire as uncontrollable elements reflects a longing for a love that is both invigorating and overwhelming.
The final verses express a yearning for a body like silk, to slip away before being captured, and for dreams to remain intact without sudden disruptions. The repeated refrain of "for once" emphasizes the singer's plea for a brief respite from the uncertainties and challenges of life and love. Ultimately, the song captures a profound yearning for moments of clarity, peace, and stability amidst the volatile and unpredictable nature of emotions and experiences.
