You Reign
MercyMe Lyrics

Even before there was a star in the sky
Even before the world was put in motion
You were on Your throne
You were on Your throne
You reign
Glory in the highest
Let creation testify by Your name
Every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim
That Jesus reigns
Even before Your hand made the heavens
Even before the breath of all mankind
Even before we had to be forgiven
You were on Your throne
You were on Your throne
You reign
Glory in the highest
You reign
Let creation testify by Your name
Every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim
That Jesus reigns
Yesterday, today and forever
You are God who was, and is, and is to come
You reign
Glory in the highest
You reign
You reign
Glory in the highest
You reign
Let creation testify by Your name
Every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim
Let every tongue proclaim
Let every tongue proclaim
That Jesus reigns
The song "You Reign" by MercyMe speaks about the power, majesty, and sovereignty of God. The lyrics highlight the fact that even before the world was created, God was on His throne, and He will continue to reign forever.
The opening verse of the song emphasizes that God's reign extends far before human existence. The reference to "a drop in the ocean" and "a star in the sky" conveys the vastness of God's reign and His power over all creation. The chorus then declares the glory of God and asserts that every knee will bow and every tongue will proclaim His name. The song ends by emphasizing that God is eternal and will forever reign supreme.
Overall, "You Reign" is an anthem of praise to God and a reminder of His greatness and might. It encourages listeners to join in with all creation in praise of the One who reigns supreme over all.

Gosh, I can't stop playing this song without tearing up or getting goosebumps. Such a beautiful song, it helps us picture the awesomeness of God, how sovereign He is!!
Love, love, love Mercyme! Praise God for Bart's gift of voice and songwriting.
I've been blessed to watch his recent movie: "I can only imagine". Got a lot of love and respect for this guy; behind that beautiful smile carried a lot of pain! May God continue to bless him and his family, in Jesus name, Amen! (PS. looking forward to going to their concert this year; I still love their old songs like "I can only imagine, You Reign; and Beautiful. I hope they play this at the concert too!!)
