It was born in 1991 in Caen, Normandy. They play amusing and/or traditional songs inspired by Quebec songs. They started by singing real traditional songs and then invented new ones.
The band has a great experience of the scene and usually invite people to dance and participate.
Today, since François Boros is gone, there is no more any initial creator of the band, Emmanuel (Manu) Savinelli, Dominique Adrix (Jimi) and François Boros.
December 2006, they decided to stop (at least for a moment) their common activity, to continue each one alone.

L'a faite bâtir à trois pignons,
Refrain :
... Oh c't'à ma fille Jeanneton...
... Oh Jeanneton c'est un beau nom...
... Ma fille promettez moi donc...
... De ne jamais aimer les garçons...
... J'estimerai mieux que la maison...
... Puisses-tu tomber comme du charbon
The lyrics to Mes souliers sont rouges' song Mon Père a Fait Bâtir Maison tell the story of a father building a house with three gables while his daughter Jeanneton and her female companion are nearby. The refrain talks about the simple pleasures of life such as smoking a pipe with tobacco, eating eel and black pudding, and drinking good wine. When a passing monk asks who the house belongs to, Jeanneton proudly states that it is her father's. The monk compliments Jeanneton's name and asks her to promise not to love any boys. Jeanneton agrees to her father's request and he tells her that he would prefer the house to fall like charcoal than have her marry a man.
