The lyrics of Mone Kamishiraishi's 白い泥 (Shiroi Doro / White Mud) are about wanting to show someone a beautiful scene, and the feeling of a special day finally coming. The song starts with the singer saying she has a scenery that she wants to show the person she is singing to. She then describes the night wind blowing and playing with the person's messy hair, and compares it to waves painted delicately with a fine brush. She says that the next day she will leave, but it's okay because she feels that everyone's day is connected, leading to its end, and it's necessary that she goes. However, she wants to know what lies beyond the limits of this world with a deadline, and what lies beyond its expiration date.
In the second verse, she talks about the feeling of the awaited day approaching, and how her heart beats faster than usual, and the hope that everyone's past efforts will pay off. But even though it's not about winning or losing, she still wants to know if they truly understand what it's about. The chorus is then repeated, but the last part is slightly different. This time, the singer says she wants to be taken on a lifelong journey, where only the person she is singing to can catch up with her. The song is about wanting to share the beauty of life, the importance of time and the desire to take a risk and find out what lies beyond what we know.
