Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend… Read Full Bio ↴Who is Mr. P Chill?
Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend. Others would call him a revolutionary. Some would call him an emcee on a mission. And yet others would call him the essence of hip hop itself. All of those descriptions are true. This Sacramento hip hop vet lays his entire lifetime of experiences on every track, every drop of blood and sweat and every tear shed is a part of what makes his music so real. P Chill is not some emcee hiding behind a partition of lies, but rather a person as real as you. Chill writes of the hardships of the working poor, the pain of heartbreak, the anger of the youth and tries to find solutions to a world gone wrong.
P Chill released his first recordings in 1992 while a part of a group. Over the next 20 years Chill has continued to grow not only as an emcee, but as a natural born leader. Chill’s philosophy is that he has been given an incredible opportunity to reach the masses with his voice, so he must use his voice for something constructive, not just talk about senseless, random, materialistic things. Having spent the past 8 years performing up and down the west coast of the United States, selling countless copies of his 6 albums hand to hand as well as over the internet, Chill has decided that the time has come to expand even further. The message of peace and equality that P Chill spreads is universal and needs to be heard. Chill had spent much of 2011 on the road promoting his two releases that year; ONCE AGAIN and ALL SERIOUSNESS ASIDE all over the United States and has already gotten 2012 off to a good start on the road as well.
There is a wind of change blowing in hip hop and P Chill will have that wind at his back as he moves forward into 2012!

Whoever thought this a happen?
Hey yo, that bum nigga rappin,' took it the top, now I won't stop
I remember bein' broke cause if I didn't nigga
I'd be frontin,' reminisicin' where your nigga at?
Ain't nuthin,' never thought about the hot outfits, jewelry or the celly
Back then we was in the skelly
Shorties with the barrettes, candy in the bag
A nigga like me had the motherfuckin' pro players and my Lees on
For a nickel got my squeeze on
Fly balls off the wall in the schoolyard
Swear to gods got my first quickie in school garage
[Chorus]
I remember those days
You and I gettin' paid
Now we got it made, oh yeah
I remember, I remember
[Verse 2: Mr. Cheeks]
Aiyo, we open gates and let the dogs chase us home after school
Until my nigga Skee got bit, yo, but that was cool
We took him to the crib we laughin', growin' up
We drinkin' liquor on the stool while he throwin' up
We runnin' from school security, besides that the 102 cops
Yo, the man was my grandpops
He used to air me out, he never tried to even motherfuckin' hear me out
No punishment, but here we out
We back at it again, me and my men
Yo what was realest when us niggas ?????
And all we want to know does anybody fuckin' care?
And why this trouble follow me every fuckin' where?
[Chorus]
(Indistinct Talking)
[Verse 3: Mr. Cheeks]
Aiyo, we used to hot wire cars, bragged about the scars we collected
Tryin? to escape from them older guys up at the bars
They never let us bang, let's act ???????
We knew they had a crew, but yo our crew was thick
OK, now we graduated from junior high
We into badder bitches, caine, getting money yo, we livin? fly
We got the Jordan and ball, we got the weed and all
When Chris died yo we felt there was no need to fall
We seen it all, from welfare lines, all them good and bad times
Back then I wish I had rhymes
I got my childhood name from my wild hood
Sling still, as though it was a good thing
[Chorus] - repeat 3X
In Mr. P Chill's song "I Remember," Mr. Cheeks talks about his memories of growing up, reminiscing about the days when he and his friends had little money or material possessions, but enjoyed life nonetheless. He remembers the small things, like playing skelly and shooting hoops in the schoolyard, as well as more dangerous activities, like hot-wiring cars and running from the police. Mr. Cheeks also discusses his family, including his grandpa who frequently reprimanded him, and his old friend Chris who passed away.
The lyrics show the contrast between the simplicity of Mr. Cheeks' childhood and the complex, often dangerous realities he faced. Despite the difficulties he encountered, he cherishes his memories of that time and acknowledges the impact they had on his life. Through his lyrics, Mr. Cheeks emphasizes the importance of remembering where you came from and staying true to your roots.
Overall, "I Remember" is a poignant reflection on the past and a reminder to appreciate the small moments in life that shape who we are.
