The wrong guy is dying
No matter the place
The wrong guy is burning
No matter the place
The wrong guy is dying
No matter the place
And you might get burned
Touched by your history
There’s nothing I can do
Gotta follow the rules now
Touched by your history
There’s nothing I can do
Gotta follow the rules now
Baby, oh no baby, oh no baby
It’s 6 in the morning
The city light is turning
I’m drinking my coffee
Depressed by your things
My heart will never eat the pills
Cause I’m shaking now
My head in there
Waiting for the last ending
I cried for 3 long years
She will never sing like the high flying birds
He will never feel the wind blowing in his face
It is 6 in the morning
Depressed by your things
My heart will never eat the pills
I’m drinking my coffee
Depressed by your things
My heart will never eat the pills
Cause I’m shaking now
My head in hands
Waiting for the last chanting
I’ve cried for 3 long years
It is 6 in the morning
Come on 6 in the morning
I’m drinking my coffee
Sitting in my broken chair
No matter the place
The wrong guy is dying
No matter the place
You might get burned
No matter the place
The wrong guy is dying
No matter the place
You might get burned
The song "No Matter" by No Money Kids explores the theme of a doomed relationship and the inevitable pain that comes with it. The lyrics "No matter the place, the wrong guy is dying" and "No matter the place, you might get burned" suggest that wherever the couple goes, their relationship will end in heartache for at least one of them. The repetition of this phrase emphasizes the idea that their bond is tainted and cannot be saved, no matter the effort they put in.
The lyrics "Touched by your history, there's nothing I can do, gotta follow the rules now" imply that the past experiences of the couple are causing them to act in a certain way that ultimately leads to their downfall. The idea of being "touched" by someone's history suggests that their past traumas or experiences have influenced their present behavior in a way that cannot be changed. Despite this realization, the singer feels trapped and obliged to follow the rules set by this person's history.
The song ends with the singer sitting alone, drinking coffee and reflecting on their pain. The repetition of "6 in the morning" suggests that the singer has been awake all night, unable to sleep due to heartbreak. The final lyrics "No matter the place, the wrong guy is dying, no matter the place, you might get burned" tie back to the theme of doomed love, emphasizing that the pain and heartbreak they are experiencing cannot be escaped.
