Something Is Calling You
Norah Jones Lyrics

Don't tell them, they'll only drink your tears
Don't do it, not in a hundred years
You know it
You feel it, I do too
Just listen
Something is calling you

What difference do you think that it makes
If you give, or if it's you who takes?
I know it
I feel it, you do too
Just listen
You'll hear it calling you

What difference do you think that it makes
If you give, or if it's you who takes?
I know it
I feel it, you do too
Just listen
You'll hear it calling you

Underrated song of hers, it was probably too dark to put on "Come Away With Me", but still one of my favorites of hers. Beautiful song, it sounds so outdoorsy, she just had a really unique sound for the time. A lot of people try to label norah as "contemporary pop", especially concerning her lyrics, but to me, her lyrics are beautifully subtle and use a simple, less is more approach that songwriters have been using for years. Norah Jones may not be Ella Fitzgerald or Nina Simone, but she definitely keeps their spirit of passion for music and performance alive in a day and age where performers like Rihanna treat music as a product and nothing more.
