1. Omar is a UK soul artist of Chinese, African and Indo-Jamaican descent. Born Omar Lye-Fook (1969) in Canterbury England, Omar has been making albums since the early 1990s and his work is often compared to Stevie Wonder’s work of the 1970s. After the lukewarm US sales for the LP “For Pleasure,” subsequent Omar releases were only available as pricey imports. Now Omar releases his own recordings, tours the UK often, occasionally making brief tours in the US. He is often highly regarded by his US contemporaries such as Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Common, and Stevie Wonder.

2. Omar Akram is the son of a United Nations diplomat, Omar Akram spent many of his early years traveling the world, soaking up the musical traditions of such exotic locales as Afghanistan, Cuba, France, and the Czech Republic.
By the age of 14, he was considered a piano prodigy. In his late teens, he discovered the boundary-pushing sounds of Jean Michel Jarre (France), Kitaro (Japan), and Vangelis (Greece), and began to absorb their independent musical influences. At the same time, Omar Akram remained intrigued by such classical composers as Bach and Mozart, and used much of their thematic coherence, comprehensible structure, and clear rhythmic control to craft his own original compositions.

If you doubt
This is what you want 'cause I give up now
I don't wanna lose my friend
Swear I tried (swear I tried), lettin' go (lettin' go)
But I won't
I've been all around on this merry-go
Hopin' I could be your man
Baby I, I hear your words but I see your eyes (see your eyes)
For what it's worth, you might be in mind and I
Know we got somethin' real that we can't hide
So let me know
If you feel, like I feel
Let me know (let me know, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
If you feel, like I feel
If I run, like really run
How will I know
That it won't just give me vertigo?
I don't wanna feel that pain, again
(The pain, the pain, the pain, the pain)
Then again, more than friends
Sounds too fine
I just can't explain what I feel inside, but
I don't wanna miss your train
Ooh, ooh, ooh, I'm gettin' tired of us stuck inside
I feel the family of butterflies
All in my gut, all in the flow, do you?
(Flutter, flutter, flutter, fluttering)
So let me know
If you feel, like I feel
Let me know (let me know, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
If you feel, like I feel
(I want) Spring time, I want Summer time
Deep in love, we can fall in the Autumn time
Hold me ever close, in the Winter time, every time
I want Spring time, I want Summer time
Deep in love, we can fall in the Autumn time
Hold me ever close, in the Winter time, every time
So let me know
If you feel (feel), like I feel
Let me know (let me know, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
If you feel (if you feel), like I feel
Spring time, I want Summer time
Deep in love, we can fall in the Autumn time
Hold me ever close, in the Winter time, every time
The lyrics to Omar's song "I" are a plea for clarity and understanding in a relationship. He is asking his partner to take their time and think about whether they truly want to be with him, and if so, to let him know. Although he has tried to move on, he still has feelings for this person and hopes that they can be more than just friends. He is open about his vulnerability and fear of getting hurt again, but the thought of being with this person makes him feel like he has butterflies in his stomach.
The chorus of the song asks his partner to express their feelings if they feel the same way that he does. Throughout the song, Omar describes the changing seasons as a metaphor for the different stages of a relationship, from the passion of summer to the intimacy of winter.
Overall, the lyrics to "I" are a heartfelt plea for honesty and communication in a relationship. Omar is willing to take a risk and be vulnerable for the chance to be with someone he cares about deeply.
