2. Omnia is an electronic dance music producer, his track Stick in monday was featured in the Trance Mix Mission Podcast.
Man behind it all, is Evgeny Smirnov. Born in 1987, he would grow up with a diverse taste in music, loving and exploring the beauty of different genres. In the 90’s, he turned his passion for EDM into a hobby and started toying around with producing programs. After discovering trance music, Evgeny knew which path to follow and started developing his sound into this direction.
At the end of 2006, when Evgeny was only 20 years old, he concentrated on creating his own, quality tracks and saw big names like Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Above & Beyond play his tracks and remixes on the radio and during gigs. Remixes on ‘Ørjan Nilsen – La Guitarra’ and ‘Armin van Buuren feat. Jacqueline Govaert – Never Say Never’ put Omnia’s name on the map.
WHEEL OF TIME
Omnia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And where's my holy place?
All have flowed away like water
Where's the summer sun?
And where have all the good times gone?
All have flowed away in time
These hands were taught to work the land
A barren waste of modern madness
Life is like a music hall
But you don't get a curtain call
The trees of youth have come to fall… asunder
And the wheel of time rolls on…
An empty space left in my bed
That's where you used to lay your head
But no 'good night, love' sweetly said… without you
I take my looking glass to see
But wrinkled eyes look back at me
I feel the need to let it be… forgotten
And the wheel of time rolls on…
In the song "Wheel of Time" by Omnia, the lyrics portrayed a sense of loss and reflection on time that has passed. The singer questions the disappearance of things that were once present and wonders where they went, such as their pretty face, their holy place, the summer sun, and the good times. These things have all seemed to flow away like water and faded into the past. The singer acknowledges that their hands were once taught to work the land, but now, the land has become a barren wasteland of modern madness, where there is little room for growth.
The singer then compares life to a music hall, where there is no chance for a curtain call. The trees of youth have also come to fall and crumble away, signifying a loss of youth and innocence. The wheel of time continues to roll on, despite these losses and changes in life. The singer then reflects on the empty space left in their bed, where their loved one used to lay their head. Without them, there is no "good night, love" sweetly said, which highlights a profound sense of loneliness. In their reflection, the singer takes their looking glass to see but is faced with wrinkled eyes staring back at them, indicating the passage of time, and the realization that things must be forgotten and let go.
