Bypass Default
Papadosio Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Long time color blind
Please tell me everything is alright
Don't you rattle so
Just let me paint any picture I like

Locked my mind my away
No pain no tidings to lead me astray
You're just an unkind stimuli
Why can't I lay around and stay high?

Stay your troubled views
I'd rather die than give into the truth

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Papadosio's song "Bypass Default" speak to the struggles of being locked in a mindset that prevents growth and understanding. The opening line, "Long time color blind," suggests that the singer has been unable to see the world in a nuanced and full way for some time. They ask someone to reassure them that everything is okay, but also ask to be allowed to paint their own picture of the world without outside interference. The singer acknowledges that they have locked their mind away and shut out outside influences in order to avoid pain or outside perspectives that might challenge their current beliefs. They refer to the world and possibly even other people as "unkind stimuli" that they would rather avoid, preferring instead to remain in a state of unproductive "high" rather than confront their issues head-on. In the final line, the singer speaks to their unwillingness to confront the harsh truths of reality, preferring instead to "die" mentally by staying locked inside their own unchallenged worldview.

Overall, this song speaks to the struggles of mental confinement and the need for people to push themselves out of their own mental cages in order to truly grow and understand the world around them. It's a powerful message that resonates with people who may feel stuck or trapped, and may inspire others to challenge themselves and embrace new perspectives.

jus' picked up on Dosio. Very cool, far ranging and a genre busting positive vibe of optimism, trippy ventures of space and time with sprinklings of organic seasonings to taste. The guitar riff at 2:10 is so much like The Revivalists', SOUL'S TOO LOUD.
