Favorite Song Of All
Phillips Craig & Dean Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

He loves to hear the wind sing
As it whistles through the pines on mountain peeks
And He loves to hear the raindrops
As they splash to the ground in a magic melody
He smiles in sweet approval
As the waves crash through the rocks in harmony
And creation joins in unity
To sing to Him majestic symphonies

But His favorite song of all
Is the song of the Redeemed
When lost sinners, now made clean
Lift their voices, loud and strong
When those purchased by His blood
Lift to Him a song of love
There's nothin' more He'd rather hear
Nor so pleasin' to His ear
As His favorite song of all

And He loves to hear the angels
As they sing, "Holy, holy is the Lamb"
Heaven's choirs in harmony
Lift up praises to the Great I Am
But He lifts His hands for silence
When the weakest, saved by grace, begins to sing
And a million angels listen
As a newborn soul sings, "I've been redeemed"

Cause His favorite song of all
Is the song of the redeemed
When lost sinners, now made clean
Lift their voices, loud and strong
When those purchased by His blood
Lift to Him a song of love
There's nothin' more He'd rather hear
Nor so pleasin' to His ear
As His favorite song of all

It's not just melodies and harmonies
That catches His attention
It's not just clever lines and phrases
That causes Him to stop and listen
But when any heart set free
Washed and bought by Calvary, begins to sing

That's His favorite song of all
Is the song of the redeemed
When lost sinners, now made clean
Lift their voices, loud and strong
When those purchased by His blood
Lift to Him a song of love
There's nothin' more He'd rather hear
Nor so pleasin' to His ear
As His favorite song of all

Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb
Halleluiah, halleluiah

Overall Meaning

The song "Favorite Song of All" by Phillips Craig & Dean is a beautiful ode to God and His love for His creation. The song paints a vivid picture of God enjoying the natural world around Him as well as the heavenly choirs singing His praises. However, despite all of the beauty surrounding God, the song explains that His absolute favorite song is the song of the redeemed. The song tells us that when sinners who have been washed and bought by Calvary sing songs of love and redemption to God, it brings Him the greatest joy. The lyrics show that God's love for humanity is unconditional and that He takes pleasure in seeing people turn to Him and worship Him.

The song beautifully depicts the contrast between the natural music of creation and the music created by humanity's redemption. While the wind singing through the pines and the raindrops splashing to the ground are beautiful, they cannot compare to the melody of redeemed souls singing in unison to their Redeemer. The song's message is powerful and reassuring, showing that even though we are imperfect, we can still bring joy to our Creator when we offer our hearts to Him and lift our voices in worship.

This is one of my many favorites by PC&D. I am thankful to the LORD He brought these beautiful souls together to lead us in harmonious and powerful worship. I am also thankful to the LORD that I am one of the millions who have been "purchased by His Blood now sing to Him a song of love"!

My opinion, the 90s where the greatest time for Christian songs, so many great catchy Melodies, great poetry with the word of God, great songs to worship and honor God with.

Average guy

I always come to tears to think on the image of Jesus telling the angels to stop the singing, just to hear the sound of a redeemed shouting I HAVE BEEM REDEEMED. Just take a moment to think deeply on this, imagine in your head how it would look like.
So good it is to know how much we are loved by an amazing God.

By the only God! All glory to God forever and ever I love you Jesus!

LYNN BRADLEY

When this song came out, I would be driving to work singing along with tears flowing down my face. Tears of pure joy. At age 76 it still happens when I hear it.
