I just recently got a Godin Session HT matt black. I had set up a blind test with a large music store in Alberta Canada. Cost was not my concern and they gave me four different but similar Strat style guitars to blindly test in a sound room with the same amp etc. The other three where an American Fender Stratocaster, a Squire Strat, a PRS silver cloud Strat and judging by simply feel and sound, I walked away with the Godin. I love it.

The pups sound very different. It's a tie for me and would depend on which tone I was after. I wn both Fenders and 2 Godin's and Godin wins for quality by far.

Godin All The Way... I currently have 3 and I'm gradually finding new homes for my American Fenders as they're not even in the same ball park. Fenders name keeps it around and gives it decent resale value but they're really a mass produced instrument much like a Chevrolet. The one Fender I still have is a MIJ Strat Boxer, which is still way better than the MIA.

I have both and while the Godin is a great guitar I like the fender better.

Well done I like how you did it using only clean sounds hate when they do almonds Distortion doesn't give the true soul of the guitar

I thought I loved my strat until I got my Godin.

I have two Godins a session and a custom session I love them for the price. I have a Gibson Les Paul too but not the same price $$$$

QC aside, the Fender sounds clearer and more sparkly to me - which I’m a fan of. Plus, I’ll take pao ferro over Indian laurel and gloss over matte any day. Additionally, in spite of apparent production cost-cutting efforts, Godin prices keep going ^ every time I turn around: $999.00 for that model vs. $879.99 for that Strat. Advantage: Fender.

I’ve seen this and I’m curious as to why this the case because i bought mine like 3 years ago for 300 bucks and it felt like a steal at the time for me for the price and quality
