Reamonn was a German rock and pop band that is well known all over Europe. They recorded six albums and disbandoned in 2010.
In 1998, Rea Garvey left his band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town of Tralee, Ireland to go to Germany with not a lot money and a demo CD in his pocket. He put an ad into local paper Stockacher Anzeiger stating, "Singer requires band for recording and live shows." Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw this ad and accurately assumed it must have been Garvey, whose original band he had once seen play live. The twosome met up and subsequently recruited Uwe, Sebi and Phil. Their first gig was played on New Year's Eve 1998 in Stockach.
In order to secure a recording contract, they set up a showcase at Logo, a small club in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives from various record labels in 1999. The band was quickly offered several contracts, settling on signing with Virgin Records Germany. As of 2006 they are now releasing their music through Universal Music.
Their best known songs are: Supergirl and Tonight(2006).
In 2011, Rea started his solo career and as of 2018, released 4 albums so far: Can't stand the silence, Pride, Prisma and Neon. Rea continues to work with national and international artists like Kool Savas, Jam & Spoon, Paul van Dyk or Mary J. Blige.
In the past, he recorded a new version of "All good things come to an end" with Nelly Furtado.
For several German movies he provided solo tracks even before Reamonn disbandoned.
He regularely appears at a coach of the German Version of "The Voice" or "The Voice Kids".
Rea married in 2002 and together with their child, they live in Berlin.

Oceans between us tonight
I sit and stare at the risin' sun
Knowing you'll soon be under that same light
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
From the crashing waves against the harbor wall
I'll keep your secrets, take them to my grave
So bury my deep in that hole
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
Hey
There's only one love
There's only one light
Lover, I
Hey
There's only one love
There's only one light
Lover, I
London's calling, it plagues my mind
Stand here soaked through and through
And on a whisper I gave you my heart
'Cause I knew your intentions were true
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon, yeah
Hey
There's only one love
There's only one light
Lover, I
Hey
There's only one love
There's only one light
Lover, I
Free fallin' for miles
Through the blue ocean skies
When I land I'll be runnin'
When I land I'll be runnin'
Free fallin' for miles
Through the blue ocean skies
When I land I'll be runnin'
When I land I'll be runnin'
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
Hold my heart
I'll be home soon
Hold my heart
The lyrics to Rea Garvey's song "Hold My Heart" convey a sense of distance and longing for a loved one who is far away. The opening lines, "I wrote in homes, singin' songs by the Rolling Stones," suggest that the singer is reminiscing about their time together, perhaps writing letters or messages while listening to music. The mention of "oceans between us tonight" emphasizes the physical separation between them. Despite this distance, the singer finds solace in the fact that both they and their loved one are under the same sun, symbolizing a connection that transcends the physical.
The chorus, "Hold my heart, I'll be home soon," expresses the desire to be reunited with their loved one and the plea for them to hold onto their heart until that time comes. The lyrics continue to emphasize the singer's commitment and protective nature, as they declare themselves to be the loved one's hunter, vowing to keep them safe from the challenges they may face. They also promise to keep their secrets, showing a willingness to bear any burden for their loved one's sake.
The line "I'll your hunter, I, I'll keep you safe" can also be interpreted as the singer being proactive in pursuing love, willing to do whatever it takes to protect and cherish their relationship. The song suggests a strong bond between the two individuals, as the singer trusts their loved one's intentions and offers their heart willingly because they believe in the authenticity of their love.
Overall, "Hold My Heart" encapsulates a tale of distance, longing, and unwavering commitment, showcasing the power of love to transcend physical boundaries.
